Weren't the miraluka extinct by the time of the galactic civil war? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm down for some miralukas.

Nope, Miraluka ( canon / Legends )

Actually no. In the old EU, Miraluka's DID survive past the events of Kotor 2. Jerec from Dark Forces 2 is confirmed a Miraluka.

And, in the new canon we have a Miraluka that was around during the Clone Wars: Jedi Master Prosset Dibs

I hope the Vurk are included, I kind of like them. Tholothians - not really a fan, but that's mostly because I don't particularly like the idea of them being a species of their own (I always assumed the tendrils were decorative headdress - takes some getting used to knowing it's not the intention!). Thisspiasians might be cool, but I doubt I'd ever play one.

Really looking forward to this book now!

I've been giving serious thought to picking up Seer as another spec to boost my force (starting as a Makashi Duelist left it somewhat... wanting), but part of me wants to wait and see if one of the new specs has a two force rating bumps in the tree, because Seer just isn't lighting me up over here.

Then you aren't a true Mystic, because the Seer is the most Mystical of the three we have :P !

But seriously, my guess is that you're looking for the Magus. It's the one I'm betting will have two Force Rating talents, and will probably be a bit more...direct in the application of its power.

Hopefully. And hopefully it doesn't have any lightsaber >_< (yes, I'm on about this again :P )!

Makashi Rules, Seer drools.

Uh-huh. How's that lonely Force die doing for you? I'm feeling pretty good up here with my three :D ! I even get to reroll them every so often if I don't like the result!

My force powerd leap and dual sabers say hi.

But that's the thing, isn't it? More Force dice means more higher jumping more often, and I can use Protect. So those lightsabers better be able to get through DR 10+ and Defense 4 on a consistent basis :D !

Sorry. Best Mystic is a Councilor. Ascetic FTW. We don't need 2 lightsabers, because....uh... .that is a lot of weight to carry around.

My average damage is around 22 with a dual strike. And my affectionately named 'Extendo saber' Would negate the defense for a turn. But this isnt the PvP tournament. Back to moaning about no mystic articles *Mumbles incoherently*

I'm really, really hoping Magus has two Force Rating talents, and no Lightsaber skill. I'm kind of feeling like building a Joruus C'baoth-type character, who fights entirely using the Force. Granted, I don't think any PC in this game could ever hope to do some of the things C'baoth did (enslaving the minds of everyone on an entire Star Destroyer, coordinating Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruisers that were lightyears apart, ect.), but I'd still like to give it a try.

Don't get me wrong, the Seer is a really nice tree. My only issue with it is that I'd be getting it just for the force rating. Despite being a duelist, my character's preference is to talk their way into/out of situations. For that reason, I don't want the extra force ratings to be overtly powerful with things like (as you've hilariously suggested elsewhere) throwing freighters at people, but to make things like Misdirect and Influence more useful in getting around undetected. The Seer tree doesn't really add to that in any way, unfortunately, but is the more thematic for the character in a way (thematic spanner in the works: my character doesn't really know she's force capable. Right now, she has Sense, but for all intents and purposes doesn't realise she's using it. As far as she's concerned, she's just very good at reading people). The biggest draw - apart from the FR talents - in the Seer tree is Forewarning for that reason.

If the Magus has two FR talents, it'll again depend on what else is on that tree. My secret hope is that Prophet has it, as I'm sure that'll have enough social-check talents that I'm going to want it anyway. I can dream...

I average about 30, but I don't like taking them out. Just because I'm a duelist, doesn't mean I should be dueling everyone I meet (mental image of me walking around with a single glove, just slapping everyone). Drawing the swords is kind of an "oh s***" button. I have literally talked our group's way into and out of an Imperial base, retrieving what we needed without firing a single shot over about four sessions. To me, that's more rewarding than slicing and dicing, and kind of fits the mystic style a bit more.

Arissa is an aspiring Sith so slicey dicey comes as standard. Recently became Padawan to a PC whos playing a Jedi that survived 66. " Disappointed " doesn't begin to describe his characters view on her actions last session. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to modify my sabers. The Exteno was looted from an Inquisitor and I crafted a precision saber so I lose damage for extra boost dice. The social and combat ability of Makashi is what drew me to it as well. A Makashi Twi'lek is quite the charming, lying, negotiating and cool deadly package.

Oddly, I'm also playing a Makashi Twi'lek who crafted shoto sabers and has an interesting moral compass. Clearly we're both geniuses. She still tends to leave the sabers holstered most of the time, though. She's found "other methods" to prove quite fruitful too.

I have a totally demolished brain Sith Maruder who uses two lightsabers of pale gold, she never did bleed her crystals. When she was a Jedi Padawan she WAS a Seer type

Pick up Arbiter then you get your talky with a side of Lightsaber.

Pick up Arbiter from Consular it has Talking, Force point and a side of Lightsaber.

Already have done so. Arbiter played into the character so it was an easy pick up. I'm more looking toward future potential so I can start saving up that XP for when the Mystic book drops in case there's something ideal in there.

I'm hoping that the magus has the force of will talent which currently only occurs in the force sensitive emergent spec

See, stuff like this is why I run Shadow so often...

Extra Force Die, Dual Lightsabers. They don't mean jack if you can't even find me.

Sleight of Mind and Dodge, learn to love them for they are life-savers. As is Slippery Minded

This is why I love my Permamently Drunk Cathar Jedi Grand Battlemaster, Snowbund. She is so hammered and reeks to kingdom come everyone thinks her a harmless drunk, but she fights like Jackie Chan when he's hammered or amped up on something.

Slippery Minded ? How about "Stinky Minded ?" Snowbund can easily outstink a Hutt on a good day

Well Dawn of Rebellion's "Update" Date changed in the Upcoming list, but none of the splat books have.

Don't know what this means, but I'll be mightily disappointed if they rush out the setting book over the Engineer book that was announced months before it.

What doe the last updated date actually mean in this instance?

Not exactly sure, but I think it correlates to when FFG gets updated on the status of an item?

Not exactly. I've noticed these "pseudo-updates" since I started tracking data, and I've come to the conclusion that they don't really mean anything, I'm fairly certain they're a glitch in the system. Possibly someone was doing the update for the day on Thursday, accidentally updated Dawn, and then realized Dawn wasn't supposed to be updated, so changed it back. But the system still considered that a change, so changed the "Most recent update" field.

Or there's another explanation for why it happens, but it doesn't really mean much. The times where we've seen a phantom update and something happened soon afterwards are substantially equal to those time where we got one and things continued as normal, with no new changes for many weeks afterwards.
