Is it just me or is this mystic book being most mysterious?
Perhaps they will post a weekend article just to be sweet.
I feel for all you mystics. It's not easy waiting with no news or word.
This does suck though lol. Even with the warm drinks ?
No everytime they write an article the unlimited power contained within the article is too much for the computer its written on and it explodes...
I want cocoa and marshmellows with a shot of rumpleminz
Maybe they can preface the article with "Many Bothan writers died to get you this article...."
I think the wild dream of getting it just after Christmas can be scrapped.
Yeah, unfortunately I never had such a dream . Remember, the average book takes between four and five months to produce, and we were announced at the end of September. At minimum, just using rough averages, that's the end of January beginning of February for release.
And that announcement was in the middle of the Great Production Stall of 2017, meaning going above average was highly likely.
My dream is that the Q2 2018 given in the announcement article is far too conservative, and we'll be getting the book late February/early March. Remember, that is the current "official" release timing: Q2.

Allegedly it’s due for delivery to my doorstep in March
My brothers local hobby store has it listed for preorders to arrive 2 Marcxh 2018, but Im leaving the house now to double check and make sure he's correct
Ooh...soft confirmation? I know game stores sometimes get a little more information than we do...that would be nice!
I mean...obviously I'd prefer it to be released BEFORE March, but March is better than "Q2."
Hey!
The product page for Unlimited Power (!!!) has finally appeared! No new information that we didn't already know, but as Blackbird pointed out, that usually means our first article won't be far behind!
And, more importantly, it's MOVEMENT!!! YAY!!!

Well today has been a busy announcements day with 10 new articles today. Half of which are Star Wars related.

And not a one of them (so far) to do with the RPG . We're the forgotten step-children of the FFG family, it feels.
I know we're actually not, but still. It feels that way some times!

We just need a RPG tournament then we will get all the attention. Competitive Role playing.
GOOD NEWS! The game store says the preorders normally are sold within a day or two of arrival at store, which they estimate at 2 March 2018, preorders made available to those who preordered are then notified to contact the store to ensure the product is there before going to pick it up. Normally its a 2 day time span of estimated arrival day {in this case 2 March} to actually touching the product itself {could either be 28 Feb or 4 March}
I base this on my own experiences with the same store, Im a comic lover of certain Disney stories {Figment series} and had made preorders, I got notifications 2 days before the comic was to be on store shelves for each issue, so I ended up getting ON release date directly twice for my personal experience
The shop worker expressed strongly that its an estimated day for the preorders to ber able to pick up their product, he doesnt know the exact release date, Only told me "Sometime in early March"
Yay! A (possible) date!
I mean...yeah, it's waiting until March. But I was already expecting to do that anyway, so...Yay!
I just want an article.

So, I've been wondering about the Mystic's signature abilities, which Mr. Pirate so cruelly trained us with in my Trends thread. I would love if one of them was called something like One with the Force or Unmatched Sensitivity. I think it might work something like Unmatched Fortune, where you can turn one rolled Force die to a different side (more with the upgrades, of course),to make your important Force power checks more efficient.
Alternatively it might just give you bonus Force points straight up, but while powerful, I think it lacks that little bit of oomph that turning dice has. Plus there's the thematic component. Take a look at a Force die: if you're a light side user, no matter what face is face up, you can rotate the die to an adjacent 2-white-pip face. But for a dark sider? Only five faces touch the single 2-black-pip side, and only two of those are white. So it keeps to the theme of the light being more potent if you put in the work. If you're One with the Force, every die you turn gets you two additional pips, whereas you're pretty much getting 0 or 1 extra pip if you're looking for blacks, unless you're very lucky.
Thoughts? What names/effects are you all hoping for for the Mystic SigAbles?
I’d love to see the ability to use a force power at the same times as a lightsaber attack (wouldn’t help me personally but would fit the dualist theme)

I rarely use the actual dice so I'm not sure if I understood that correctly but it seems cool on surface.
I would like, whatever the more combaty spec is, to have a mechanic similar to what you are describing though.

That was the one thing about those dice I didn't like, that apparently the Darkside is weaker but also a quicker path to power? It makes no sense for the Emperor and Vader to be a threat if Yoda could just overcome them because he uses the lightside. It has to be that the two sides are equal.
On the Sig Abil's maybe allow you to cast force powers as incodentals for a number of times in a round? Like 3 times over three rounds would be the max?

Ooh, that would be cool! More powers more quickly is something I feel a Mystic could benefit from!
On the Dark side thing, as Yoda mentioned the dark side isn't stronger, it's just quicker and easier. And the dice actually do a good job of showing that.
At FR 1, if you are only using black pips, you will generate Force points and succeed at what you're attempting more often. 58.33% of the time, as opposed to using white pips, where it's 41.67% of the time. Once you get to FR 2, something really cool happens: dark siders and light siders have the exact same chance of generating exactly 2 or exactly 3 pips (31.94% and 8.33% respectively), but a dark sider has a much higher chance of getting exactly 1 pip (41.67%, as opposed to light-sider's 19.44%). So using the dark side is much more consistent at getting you at least 1 pip, and equally as good at getting you 2 or 3. Where's the downside? Well, as you can guess, the downside is in getting 4 pips, which the dark side can't do as easily. But it's still not common for light-siders.
And here's the thing: as you increase your Force rating and start rolling more dice, this general pattern stays roughly the same, but with more dice, the probabilities start trending towards the average. Which, for both dark and light, is 2 / 3 a pip per die. So the light-sider has a harder and harder time taking advantage of their higher chance of a max roll, as it requires rolling max on more and more dice, while the dark side advantage of more consistently getting SOMETHING goes away, as with more dice the chance of not getting at least 1 white pip gets smaller and smaller. They trend towards the middle regardless of which side you use. But the Dark Side is easier to use at the beginning, because it's easier. Wait...

If we look at what Yoda says, he says it ain't stronger not that it is weaker. It's not good storytelling if your bad guys are just weaker, then why doesn't Yoda just beat them over the head with the lightside if it is stronger.
