Talking about commons and uncommons. After opening a few boxes, there are lots of extra cards and it seems like a waste to toss them. I've given my nephews whichever cards they want, but still have a bunch left. What do you do with yours?
What do you do with your extra cards?
When my son and I first started playing, we attended an SOR prerelease event. A fella my son played against let him pick out a TON of Commons and uncommons that he brought with. Another woman I played, gave me a Qui-Gon as I only had one at the time. I thought that was real cool and made us feel welcome.
I put anything that I have more than 4 of in a separate box. I save them to return the favor for other new players as others did for us. That and you never know when a character/card combo suddenly emerges from a new set so it's always good to keep some. Id never throw any away.
After opening my 1.5 boxes of EaW I went through all of my cards and sorted them. I kept 2 copies of what have and put the extras aside. I keep more than 2 copies of non-unique characters (for stuff like Training and and multiple non-unique characters decks), and the new Villain seeker droid...basically, keep more than 2 cards only if there's a possibility to roll in more than 2 dice. The extras are trade fodder.
I have at least ten spares of every common. I usually save them and keep them in a large box that used to hold reams of printer paper. Who knows, maybe they’ll be worth something some day, if this game really takes off?
I also use them often to flesh out a deck. If a new player wants a deck, and pulls a good legendary, I trade them an entire deck for that legendary, using rares from my trade binder and a whole ton of extra commons. I’ve actually built some really good decks for people in this way!
Rares that my sons daughter likes (BB-8 etc.) or the ones I hate the most (Supply line, chance cube, FO tie fighter etc.) I give them the dice ... and cards (Cards last 2-3 mins in their hands, they are 1-3 years old). But they like the dice feeling and picture on it.

I trade then if someone new has something I need I'll double up on what I trade them. I get what I'm after and they get a good start.
Commons I normally bundle and give to new players. Uncommons I fill out the needs of a couple of lads I play with or throw them in a sweetners with multiple rares if trading up for a legends.
Keep them for trading when the Awakenings amd SOR sets dry up amd new players come around. Might even be able to trade them for future set stuff and not have to buy any yourself.
I make them into "starter" decks and sell them on ebay
I try to trade as much rares/uncommons as possible and I give my commons for free to my LFGS's community.
I feed them into the local community. Lots of people will not be investing as hard as others and I find plowing the extra commons and uncommons and the rare dice to an extent can keep people playing and level the playing field to the have everythings.
Thanks, everyone. I've talked to my LFGS and will be donating my extras there.
