Is it fun for you?

By Force Majeure, in X-Wing

I always thought it was Johnny, not Jimmy. Right? Not sure on Tommy, as I've always considered myself a Johnny.

Spike is memorable because I hate Spikes.

jk I don't hate Spikes. I just hate losing to them because they always fly proven lists that are better than my "creative" jank. Lol

You're right. It's Johnny, Timmy, and Spike.

The roles transfer well to the types of X-Wing players.

People can be pretty weird. That goes double for competitive wargamers. I've known people who are competitive as **** and won't take the best lists and then explain how much they could have won if they weren't handicapping themselves. I've known people who just couldn't comprehend bringing something other than the most min-maxed cheese even to a narrative casual game. I've known people who cheated in totally casual games they were already winning. You get a lot of people who seem to be deliberately avoiding the point of whatever they're doing.

This is me.

Actually, I will take the best lists one time, before it has become prevalent, to show myself and others how ridiculous it is ... and then never fly it again. Did that with Yorr-Palp-Aces, with Dengaroo, with FSR, and many others. I think the only incredibly strong lists I wasn't in the vanguard with were Paratanni and Triple Scouts.

It's often hilarious: when I reported on how ridiculous Dengaroo was, the number of theorycrafters who just absolutely insisted, "Duuuuude, just kill Manaroo , man!" was crazy. Like they're the only ones who would ever think to try that. "Duuuude, just get behind FSR, man!" Sigh. (Of course, I do think, "Dude, just kill the f--kin' Lambda" is still valid.)

Honestly, I think the reason I just won't fly unbalanced meta-lists is because I'm so competitive. There are just too many games where, if you've got a meta-list and your opponent doesn't, it's simply not a test of skill in the slightest.

That's not me, on the other hand. I have no illusions about my skill, relative to really good players or to really strong lists.

I enjoy flying Biggs. just leave R2-D2 and R4-D6 off him and enjoy having moustache's help you win! (or lose)

If only Blue Leader was a thing, then double mustaches could be the ultimate manly list.

I hope whenever we get heroes of scarif he's listed as general merrick rather than blue leader...
