Hero ships?

Nice! I'd like to see them do a little more to warrant a repaint, but at least they did add a little flair to the Quasar. I'm surprised Sabine didn't go nuts.

I just watched the s3 finale yesterday and in the penultimate episode you can see a big starburst on it. You know, before Sato and his nobility makes me want to play him again. As I laugh at Konstantine.

Sabine just didn't get the time. She was too busy lightsaber angle grinding the fin off the stethipede to be Phantom-II

It would likely have to be a unique title which makes it a rebel ship to avoid the problem of Rebels getting the Quasar titles. Otherwise you start getting into some dicey territory with Squall for instance.

I guess if you used a different silhouette of the Quasar on the Rebel version ship & title cards it would imply titles are not cross compatible as it's technically a different ship, without the need for added text or errata. Though personally I don't see anything with the existing titles that would be too broken with the rebels.

Its a non-issue.

The titles are Imperial / Rebel branded anyway .

That's what I get for doing lists by memory.

Has far had Hero ships that is basically what we have now with ship titles. I am against the method that they did in xwing of the aces packs etc. As already posted I have the ships that I need for what has come out. I like the idea of the campaign's to bring in new cards, would be nice if next time instead of just squadrons they did ships as well.

As for running out of ships that is not true there is a huge lore out there that FFG and Disney it seems do not mind pulling from. Lots of people have been asking for the Neb B 2 and the draudnaught both of which I would like to see.

Also as more books are being released we are getting more ship like the StarHawk in the aftermath series etc. So there are still lots of ships they can add to fill lots of roles in this game.

And the cycle of 2 waves a year is more than enough you can keep up with it and as the meta starts to settle then the next wave changes it.

So I think FFG should keep what they are doing with the game I think it is strongoing well done and on the right track

Spoken like a dad who has embraced the show, just to see that little face light up while Star Wars music plays to the events on the screen!

Right there with you Dras! I am so forgiving to that show, just like I was with the prequals with my oldest. It doesn't matter if it could have been better. My kids love Star Wars. I will drink it all in!

We managed to swing a Disney cruise last year. The first one that was Star Wars themed. My autistic son got to hug Chewbacca! To this day I can't help but mist up a bit, when Chewbacca comes on screen, he looks at me with that serious little face, and says " Chewy is my friend Dad!" Priceless!

I don't think that that would be a good idea. Many people limit themselves to 1 faction. Forcing them to pay $40 on a pack with only 1 ship that they can use is silly.

My experience is very few players don't have both factions. The card sale model rather forces it.

Perhaps. But I have heard of them, and it seems like people such as @geek19 and @Snipafist only play one side.

Either way, there is a difference between putting useful cards in another faction's pack, and putting another faction's ship in your own pack. Having people choose to by the other faction for neutral cards is one thing. Forcing them to buy it to get their own cards is another entirely. Like if the Chimera came with a rebel-specific unique card. A similar thing applies here. $20 of that model would be entirely the other faction, and forcing somebody to pay for that, rather than giving them the option is, I think, a bad idea.

For what it's worth, I actually do have Rebel ships but they rarely make it to the table. Even before we started up Cannot Get Your Ship Out, I'd say I played Rebels at best 10% of the time; usually towards the end of a wave when I felt like I'd explored all the Imperial options available and wanted to try something new. Since I'm the "Imperial guy" for the blog, I haven't played as Rebels at all at least partially because I feel it's best to get as much experience with the faction I'm "responsible" for as well as because with so much more stuff in the game nowadays, there's a lot more to explore in a given faction each wave than there used to be. @geek19 is definitely Rebel-only, though, but he'll trade for/buy upgrade cards he needs from Imperial packs so he's got a well-rounded upgrade card suite. It's also been my experience that overall most players stick with one faction (perhaps dabbling in the other) and do similarly with the upgrade cards.

I'm not opposed to some kind of expansion that provides cards for each faction (sort of like how Corellian Conflict did it), but including cards for a different faction in a package of a ship/squadrons intended for the other is obviously a bit silly. They do love doing that with neutral upgrade cards, however, because a nerd and his money are soon parted.

We're down to a handful of cards that definitely feel critical only being in one kit... Especially since TRC and APT both have hit the aftermarket in bunches due to the Tournament kits...

Really, I feel like Flight Controllers and Flight Commander are the two biggest issues right now... Flight Controllers, because its only in the Victory... And then Flight Commander is a double problem for both sides, because you often want more than one, and they're in the even less rebuyably Interdictor...

I think those two in particular would shut me right up if they were just available elsewhere somewhere.

of course, if they ever reverse the XI7/AP standoff, then I'd giggle about APs only being in Assault Frigates, too ;)

But for the MOST part, apart from TRC/APT, the kits have been generally supportive of their playstyles and upgrades. I was very surprised to see Quad Battery Turrets in the Quasar and not be able to be equipped to it , so that was odd, but still a doubled-up freebie.

I would really like to see the Corvus (Inferno Squad's Raider corvette, as seen in the new Battlefront) added, if they're going to add more special ships...

Maybe an Iron Fist VSD pack to bring Warlord Zsnji into Armada? But then again, it would probably never happen because he's now in Legends.

It is true that most of the Legends stuff we got was well in plan before the Disney canon-shakeup was actually set in stone (Garm, AF, etc).

But there are recent "purely Legends" things.

Like Corran Horn and E-Wings.

So don't give up hope just because its Legends.

If its good and useful, FFG might exactly seek that provision to do it.

After all, Thrawn was Legends until we fans basically revolted about him not being included...

I think we're upselling ourselves there.

Of all things to be included in the new canon from Legends, Thrawn was going to be the most popular right from the start. Zahn's Trilogy is essentially credited with saving Star Wars Fiction, anyhow... I think they just needed to have everything in place to properly announce it and make sure it wouldn't conflict with the new canon. Waiting for the appropriate time to add it in via Rebels , since early on was too quick to the story... Then to make sure Zahn himself was on board and all.

I doubt complaints and demands did anything other than delay it.

Possibly out of Spite.
