So I picked up my first (maybe only) Lambda today. Could any of you help me make a list with it? This would be my first list where there is a dedicated support ship (I'm also not great at making Imperial lists). The current Imperial/FO forces I own are:

TIE/SF
TIE Interceptor
2x TIE Defender
TIE Bomber
Lambda
TIE Aggressor
Decimator
Slave I

You could try Fleet Officer. I've been trying to make that work, but haven't figured it out yet. Maybe put it on Yorr with an Inspiring Recruit? De-stressing your ships, and passing out focus tokens sound like what's up.

Not an Imperial Veterans, I assume.
The Lambda has a couple of uses. The best is carrying Emperor Palpatine, but you can do a fair amount of work with Darth Vader.
Omicron Group Pilot - Collision Detector, Darth Vader
If you can catch someone in arc, you can trade 2 hit points on a 10 hitpoint, 24 point ship for an automatic critical on an elusive ace.
Omicron Group Pilot - Advanced Sensors, Fleet Officer, Antipursuit Lasers
Fleet Officer action before a green move. Lets you keep up a steady supply of tokens to a couple of aces.
It can support a TIE swarm with Fleet Officer-generated tokens and an Intelligence Agent to let you block effectively with your TIE fighters.
If you just picked up a lambda for the first time, try Darth Vader (crew, lambda), Gunner (crew, slave 1), and a Patrol Leader (decimator). It's a seriously brutal ship for chopping up expensive and fragile ships, even if it does self-destruct at a terrifying rate.
Edited by Magnus GrendelThe Doomshuttle (omicron with Vader crew) remains a classic in my mind. Fly it with two strong aces. Quickdraw and Vessery/Ryad maybe? It wont be top tier but it works fine.
For casual play, feel free to proxy Emperor Palpatine.
For ships you'll have the cards for, the Vader crew Doomshuttle is pretty classic.
I also saw a pretty cool build a while back with an Omicron Group Pilot with a Tractor Beam paired with a Quickdraw with Swarm Tactics. With the shuttle boosted to PS9, it was able to tractor around enemies, and then you could open up on them with the rest of your squad. That'd probably work fairly well with support crew like Fleet Officer.
