Hello I'm new to the game and wanted to build around eBossk and IG88. I also want to do it on a budget. Does anyone have any ideas on strategy and cheaper rares to include. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Bossk and IG88
For eBossk and IG-88 you are going to be looking to include all the yellow weapons and equipment you can into the deck. Don't plan to heavily around IG-88's special ability, you may use it once a game, sometimes not at all. Most of the time you are going to want his die to be doing damage. You are probably just looking to overwhelm your opponent with damage.
As for cheap rares (all $3 or less on Coolstuffinc):
- Flame Thrower
- Jet Pack
- Ascension Gun
- Relby-V10 Mortar Gun
- LL-30 Blaster Pistol (a little more $, but should be easy to come by)
Other Cards to include
- Backup Muscle
- Fight Dirty
- Armed to the Teeth
Add some dice mitigation
- He Doesn't Like You
- Doubt
Will this combination win tournaments, probably not. But will it win some games and do lots of damage, probably. Good luck. Have fun.
To add to the good suggestions from CBowser, I'd try to add the following:
Events: One Quarter Portion, Bait and Switch(not great for IG but will work for Bossk and most upgrades) , Unpredictable, Electroshock(tends to run a little pricey, but if you have it, it's an auto-include), Ace in the Hole.
Support: Infamous...this is personally a must for me in mono-yellow decks. If you can get this out early it can be a difference maker, especially when it's close near the end.
Upgrades: Personal Shield and Armor Plating will help on the defensive side... Cunning is one of my favs and I try to include it in most decks with two yellow characters as well. Deadly and Fast Hands are some of the best non-die upgrades and should get consideration.
Yellow (and even more so Yellow Villain) has the nastiest events! Don't put too many upgrades in your deck. You want to spend your resources on events. Remember that it doesn't matter how hard a die can hit it it's never resolved.

Four, three cost events is way too much... You'll never get them off with IG in the mix and potentially leave Bossk's 3Melee side high and dry.
One Quarter Portion removes any die and does it at 1/3 the cost. Sure it doesn't turn the damage on your opponent, but damage should not be hard to dish out with these two. You have Threaten and Battle Rage in there, which I think is are better options than either of the 3-cost.

I haven't had that problem with decks similar to this one. The key is knowing when to spend and when to save. There are cheaper options for sure, but you have to give something up. The deck I suggested is not a quick play deck. It probably will claim the battlefield (and gain a resource for doing so), but it wants to hang around to counter the opponent.
If you are having money problems, yellow has solutions in cards like Underworld Connections, Stolen Cache, and Outmaneuver.
Wow thank you guys for all the input and I have a lot of the cards mentioned I go for characters I like above all and these are two of my favorite glad to hear they can be somewhat tough
Looks really fun! I also wonder about Bossk and Ventress? They were both bounty hunters who worked together in the Clone Wars! In case you’re interested, this is what I would build:
Character: (30/30)
2x Asajj Ventress (Spirit of Rebellion)
2x Bossk (Empire at War)
Battlefield:
1x Garel Spaceport (Empire at War)
Event: (18)
2x Isolation (Awakenings)
2x He Doesn’t Like You (Awakenings)
2x Feel Your Anger (Awakenings)
2x Doubt (Spirit of Rebellion)
2x Electroshock (Awakenings)
2x Mind Trick (Awakenings)
2x Rise Again (Spirit of Rebellion)
2x Anger (Spirit of Rebellion)
2x As You Command (Empire at War)
Support: (0)
Upgrade: (12)
2x Vibroknife (Spirit of Rebellion)
2x Flame Thrower (Awakenings)
2x Relby-v10 Mortar Gun (Empire at War)
2x Holdout Blaster (Awakenings)
2x LL-30 Blaster Pistol (Empire at War)
2x Chance Cube (Empire at War)
I've been trying to think up a Bossk/IG-88 deck for a while now that makes use of explosives. Includes Thermal Detonator, Infantry Grenades, Mortar Gun, Anarchy, and No Survivors. Then you can use Bossk's ability along with Relentless Pursuit to shift the damage around to the opponent's big characters. Unfortunately that sort of thing is going to depend on a few key legendaries, namely Thermal Detonator and Hound's Tooth, and that can be a little pricier to grab if you're newer to the game. But I agree with the advice to not count on IG88s special, especially if you're only running him at 1 die.
I am not sure if this is the best pairing even if it is thematic. IG-88, who I want to be good but just isn't yet, really needs to be elite to make full use of his ability. Bossk is fine with a single die with his ability. FFG dropped the ball on this one since that pairing doesn't work. If Bossk came in at 10/14 he would see play. As is, he may just be filler. Characters with multiple damage types and modifiers are just hard to build around and aren't efficient enough to be competitive.
I'm ok with it not being the best the other deck I'm working on is first set phasma elite fo trooper and tie fighter pilot I think that one could be semi competitive
Another option is to run them with Unkar. Those pesky pay sides feed into his ability nicely.

I was running eIg88 with Unkar before I got the bossk ha seemed ok but kinda slow
I don't think they are ever going to be a fast pair. But the good thing with IG is that his dice have so much damage already that Fast Hands serves him very well. I'd like to try to get the Mortar Gun into an IG Unkar deck.
