Etiquette and Torture Question

By HolyTyrant, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Hey All,

Quick question. In the Etiquette and Torture side mission to pick up 0-0-0 and BT-1 the captives are neutral figures and cannot suffer damage when adjacent to a healthy hero. Is there supposed to be a rule that allows you to attack the captives? If I am reading the rules correctly as a neutral figure they cannot be targeted or attacked which means the only way they can even be damaged is by blast effects when not adjacent to a healthy hero maybe? I think you can't cleave them because they have to be a valid target to attack for cleave to work right? The mission is supposed to end when a captive is defeated but that seems sort of hard to pull off without a window to even attack them :/

I missed the fact that they cant be directly targeted, but it makes sense. The mission is very hard for rebels when the captives can be directly targetted

I think that is the primary purpose of 000 as his ability damages them.

Can it? Under neutral figures (p.20) is says '... cannot suffer damage or by targeted by attacks, abilities , or any game effect...' Wouldn't 0-0-0's Invasive Procedure count as an ability? Even then it would take 3 turns of not being adjacent to a healthy hero and used on them to work. For that matter, why would they have 5 health and an evade for defense if they cannot be attacked at all? I do think the mission is a hard one for the rebel player but I think they maybe forgot to throw in a line saying that the imperial player can attack the captives given that they have to be non-adjacent to a healthy hero to even take damage at all (which makes no sense if they cannot ever be targeted by seemingly anything)?

I feel like there is indeed a typo because the mission briefing did mention

Captives are neutral figures.

and under RRG

Neutral Figures

These figures cannot suffer H (damage) or be targeted by
attacks, abilities, or any game effect except as specified by the
mission’s rules

and nowhere in mission rules says that they can be directly targeted. Probably just a missed sentence or something, I'd just play it as it is most likely intended (Imp CAN attack them as long as they're not adjacent to a healthy hero)

Actually yeah, since the captives have an evade as a defense, it does seem like the intent was that imperials can attack/target them.

I missed that and played it as being able to attack them, not that it helped because my Rebel player had no challenge getting them to the exit... Especially with Diala's force push.

Yes, you're supposed to be able to attack them due to them having health. Just use the same errata that I have suggested to some other missions:

- Neutral mission tokens represent captives
(Health: 5, Defense: 1evade). Captives are
neutral figures that can be attacked and suffer damage . ...

- If a captive is adjacent to a healthy hero, it
cannot suffer damage .

Then the above mission rule starts to make more sense.
