Glad you like it. This would give the Aggressor a unique niche, one it sorely lacks. It would also fit the "specialist" feel its going for, without becoming overpowered. It is still quite fragile, and will depend on an expensive ept like Expertise for modifications. Stress, and ions would hurt it, as well as bombs, but it would be a force to reckoned with.

You, uh, realize this automatically becomes twin autoblaster turrets, right?

Having gun knives for wings isn't princess! It's super metal!

Great idea:
Title: *Unique* TIE Sentinel
At the end of the combat phase you may perform an attack with an equipped turret. (Same as current Ghost/Phantom mechanic) make it unique so only one ship gets it or put an absurd price of 8 on the title and make it non-unique

Do not make it unique but restrict it to 'inside Arc'.

Aerodynamic reasons mostly, and for most of the time fighters have been around, it was also a question of accuracy. 3D-aiming gets a lot harder if you have to do it against your own movement direction and without computer Support. There's a reason there aren't a lot of aces in a bomber's gunner seat.
The Star Wars setting mitigates quite a lot of these problems, or rather admits handwaving. We've seen forward facing cannons swivel far back as ANH, so following up on that with "the First Order made that better" is well within the realm of possibility.
Perfect... just what people are crying out for.. more turrets!!!
Oh God, as much as I want this game to be alive in 5 more years, I hope this particular ship doesn't make it.
Not only because of the ungainly looks, the non-existent relevance in the lore (even in Legends it's only a painting), but because it doesn't add anything new to this game.
Dang, here is a quick custom card (because I'm really addicted to this):

I guess you could add the caveat 2 different turrets. . .
In any event, I think this would be a great "fluff" ship that could show up in a campaign box. Not really needed for the tournament scene, but a nice "free-bee" to keep with the miniature-mandatory release idea.

Imperial turrets- the place to put your 360 if you absolutely need to find a place to put it down.
(seriously, as if the Aggressor would ever be the thing to kill X-Wing).

Still you have a ship agile enough to get somebody into range of it's fixed guns giving that up for the extra weight and cost of a turret and gunner, extra life support and power generators. It's a heavy price for no real gain. And the Empire never was fond of heavy prices where it's pilots were concerned.

True- that's why I imagined it being a first order ship, technology substituting for manpower. Compare, if you will, experiments like the "schräge Musik" atop German light bombers (i.e. Ju88) refitted as night fighters. Specialist craft always find use in warfare, they are only built if the need arises.
That is the kind of role I envision the Sentinel to fill. Hunting bombers and other heavy craft. And to be honest, that is what the Imperials could really need right now.

Wouldn't a bomber killer want some heavy fixed guns though? Rather than coverage?

Why not heavy guns that swivel?
Just now, DampfGecko said:Why not heavy guns that swivel?
Seems to me a swivel big enough to mount heavy guns would require a larger ship.

Like a YT-2400, yes. On the other hand- technological Progress can step in for size. I know I keep coming back to it, but that really is the crux of the issue- this explanation only works as a First Order ship.

The Decimator has the same number of turrets as the Sentinel and those guns aren’t super rediculous like Dash’s ride. The 2400 has guns so big that they can’t even elevate, they are only good for shooting in a plane, leaving some really obvious approach vectors for attacking the ship.
rear turrets on slow ships make sense to keep bogies off their six. Turrets pointing ‘down’from the nose make sense on Bombers/ground assault ships. You would expect to see both on a ship the size of a K-wing or larger, but not something the size of Vader’s low rider TIE.

You would think that if you didn't know that the bombers they are hunting are super nimble barrel rolling crafts like the Scurrrrgh or Fast Slammingaway ships like the K-Wing.

Which would cause one to desire a fixed gun large enough to cripple them, mounted on a ship nimble enough to catch them?

You would also need a lot of pilots with ps 11
