Since cavalry is proving to win the game that is indeed the plan.

Good plan , I could field 16 trays then! Obscene.

Obscenely awesome

@Budgernaut I feel like you are the only other person who is anticipating the Uthuk as heavily as I am. I can not wait to decimate my opponents by killing myself!! I especially can't wait to have Kethra and some Flesh rippers and send my FR into the enemy with Unnatural Growths and then use Kethra's ability to just start whittling down my enemy.

Make that three.
For all the effort I've put into Waiqar, I'm really just biding my time for Uthuk. They're my primary faction in both Battlelore and the Runewars board game.

I've not played battlelore or runewars board game, but you basically just described me too... Putting effort into Waiqar, but just waiting for Uthuk. Though I'm not going to lie, I'll probably still buy Waiqar units and build that army too. Can't wait for Death Knights.
Elf thread dudes, not spikey mad max thread ?
really feels like they picked the wrong factions for the core, course any fantasy setting has to have humans as the initial faction.
Not many want to play waiqar it seems, and even fewer for daqans. Seems like everyone wants elves/uthuk.

I wonder if people want Latari/Uthuk because they already have Daqan/Waiqar?

I'd be willing to bet next week's article is Moose Mommies.

I want humans. I also want the playstyle of the elves too though.
The undead currently are just an oddly simple synergy army, it isn't interesting to me yet, too straightforward. And undead is always lame.
Edited by DarthainI'm going to end up collecting everything, but if Daqan wasn't in the core box I probably wouldn't get them, or at least they'd go on the back burner for a long time.
Here's a question to those who have been at the game longer. And I know a couple of people have chimed in already to some effect. But how much of each of the expansions would you pick up to flesh out a Latari army? I presume you'd only need one of Maegan. What of the Infantry command? Does anyone use two Infantry commands for any other faction? I'll probably just do one of each to start, but I'm curious more about long term.

Well it's always going to come down to what kind of list you want to run, of course. But I've never needed more than one command expansion, Waiqar maybe, but definitely not Daqan.
We don't know enough about the upgrades in the Latari expansion yet, but with Maegan I'm sure you are going to want extra Sorceresses on hand.
As far at the rest of the elf stuff, my plan is one pack of archers, this allows two six tray formations with a Scion in each. One pack of Leonx to have a six tray unit. I think one unit is enough, as that's all Alaina can redeploy. One box of Scions, with the hope that they have two of each upgrade. Maegan for sure, and then x amount of Infantry upgrades
Hopefully the swordsmen have lame upgrades because I don't want to buy any of them. I think they look kinda crappy and I really don't want to paint another 40 infantry models, nor buy 5 expansions worth

Until the Darnati release I don't see getting a second command expansion worth it as your archers are gonna be small formations or a big one. I would get 2 deepwood archers, one leonx rider, one Scion to start with the command and Maegan.
Assuming one box.
Also later grab 2 Darnati. They can hit pretty hard.
Edited by TallGiraffeYou really only need 1 deep wood archer expansion if you bought 2 army expansions. With 1 DA expansion that would give you 2 full units of DA which I doubt you would want to play.

1x Maegan
2x Latari Command - yes, MSU army, but Maegan give a sorceress slot to everything.
1xDerpwood - As said, fills out enough for 2 3x2 with the 2 cores most people bought
1xDarnati (at first) - for what Latari-only upgrade they bring
1-2 Scion - mileage may vary
Edited by Church14Probably 1 of everything 2 command, I bought 2 daqan command as well (haven't used the 2nd much though) so would be hesitant to do more than that.
We don't know what upgrades are in which elf expansion yet do we? I'm hoping tempered steel lands in the archers pack, since I want more of those, and 4 trays of archers for a Daqan list wouldn't be terrible

I actually like the potential of multiple small units of those swordsmen. They can dial in an extra hit at initiative 4, which isn't super fast (edit: but it hits super hard for that inititative and they seem like the most mobile melee infantry so they can easily flank, whereas a 2x1 of Spearmen is largely ineffective). Not as mobile as the battlecats, but I do want to try them out as interceptors and disruptors/flankers.

But with Maegan you can get a storm sorceress as a 4 pt upgrade to one of those small units of Archers!! I'm thinking the elves are the only faction I'll get more than one command for.
Edited by Wraithisti see that the latari expansions are currently shipping and the death knights are on the "boat". the death knights were due to be released in august, the latari in october. am i missing something?
The elf boat has more movement options on its dial.
