Figure upgrade definition?

By Jukey, in Runewars Rules Questions

Had a situation today where the morale card 'choose an upgrade card and discard, if it's a figure upgrade remove the figure.' So my opponent chose my frontline lancer, which makes me lose a tray. I raised the question then, are siege upgrades figure upgrades?

There's nothing in the rules saying they are or aren't specifically, but seems a bit off if they are, though that's how we played it. There is something about if the upgrade card has a picture of a figure in the upper right corner then it's a figure upgrade. Just wondering if there's a difference between siege and figure upgrades.

Is it a unit upgrade? Does it require a specific figure? You now have your answer, no need to make it unnecessarily complex

By the way that particular figure is also a siege figure but that's irrelevant in the morale card's context

1) The Carrion Lancer upgrades are caled Heavy Upgrades, not Siege Upgrades.

2) A figure can have one of three bases: infantry, cavalry, or siege. A figure used as an upgrade can have any of those bases.

3) A figure upgrade is any upgrade with the silhouette of a figure in an upper corner. The Support Carrion Lancer and Front Line Carrion Lancer upgrades each show the Carrion Lancer figure, so they are figure upgrades.

4) If the phrase "siege upgrade" were to be used, the best definition would be, "any upgrade equipped to a siege unit."

EDIT: See section 38, Figure Upgrades.

It is a figure upgrade and that morale certainly hurts.

Page 18 of the Learn To Play specifically calls out heavy upgrades as figure upgrades.
