Hmm, it seems uglies are canon again. They appear in at least: Poe Dameron 8: The Gathering Storm, Part I, and some other comics.
Do you think we will ever get any?

I think it will depend on how popular they become, or how frequently they show up in the stories going forward. I'd be interested in seeing how they design them. Scum would make the most sense for them at this point, with the information we have, right?
The problem with uglies is that they are supposed to be worse than the sum of their parts. Not sure why would you play them.
They are bad ships. Fine for narrative games but not much else.
The X-ceptor, the best performing one, is the only one I can see working to some extent. I imagine it like this. Anything better would be pushing it I think.
And you can bring 5 with unhinged and glitterstim.

This.
Nobody would play with them, aside from specific custom missions. And those folks are probably already playing with them 3d printed from sources outside of ffg.
Just print some cardboard tokens in a Scum box and stick em on bases like ID numbers and fly them around in a scenario to see how many junk ships you can asplode. Great for a campaign!
How uniform are Uglies? They seem to be the kind of ships that could be pretty unique from each other.

They're typically only uniform in "people have tried all crazy stuff and these ones tend to work more than they explode."

Gotcha. Even with that, it would almost feel a shame to just to make one model for it. If they were put in game, I would hope FFG would allow basically allow free reign for people to bring their own model versions. (Unlikely, but I can still hope.)

They'd have to be cheap. That's the benefit in the text (salvaging bits and pieces of broken ships is much cheaper than buying a new ship), and that would be the only possible benefit I could see to playing them in-game. (Maybe 10-14 points each?)
The real question is, who would the uniques be for uglies? Do we have any actual names to draw from, or would FFG have to make them all up?

Kavil's group used some. He might have flown one as well

They can be bad ships, as long as they'd costed appropriately they will be playable.
I have a squad of 5 uglies. i made a Reaver faction and theyre a fun bit of crossover, with recycled bits of victims ships being a good way to tie them in. i just made them cheap with specific roles and gave the aces skills that make a terrible chassis decent.
if uglies made it in game the only way i see them working is as a 3 or 5 ship pack where each ship model was unique. otherwise theyre just a new type of ship
I think plenty of people would buy a uglies expansion pack.
PS:2
Attack: 1
Agility: 1
Hull: 2
Shield: 0
Ability: Can equip up to 3 Modification cards
have a box with 6 bases and cards. then throw the wings/engines and cockpit/body of 2 ties, 2 Ywings, 2 headhunters and an Xwing. finish it off with a few Modification cards like shield upgrade, engine upgrade, hull upgrade and vectored thrusters. i would also make an uglies only modification that adds salvaged astromech to the upgrade bar.
this way people can make there uglies the way they like them and it would make for some interesting games

It's hard to beat the AT-STIE for the 'what the heck were you smoking?' value:

I'm fine giving 'uglies' a generic statline; It's probably easier than trying to model every insane combination (a Vaksai esque 'stack up modifications' might work).

If FFG released a box of interlocking parts "Build Your Own Ugly", with some generic cards, I wouldn't mind...

I was going to say that. It would be awesome : build your own ugly ^^

Viewports? Ah, there is nothing better than to feel the solar wind in your hair while you pilot a ship!

It could be fun if they did it like some of the old R2 units or LEGO sets, where each model in a wave/set/what-have-you comes with a piece of a fighter, and you can put them together as you will. They certainly have enough room in their boxes to put a few random parts.

So FFG just needs to cut a deal with LEGO...
I've made these for the only Ugly that really ever worked, and was "mass produced," and another "mass produced" Ugly that I just love!

Grant it, I gave the Y-TIE a base stat from it's parts, and a lot of red!

I take it back. Witness the ridiculousness that is the AT-STIE Y-Ceptor.
Just because you can do something....doesn't always mean you should.

I'm all for uglies to appear in X-Wing from both Legends and Canon.
I especially want to see the AT-AT S-foil Interceptor that Terex flew in Poe Dameron 8, however because Terex hadn't joined the First Order yet and had just defected from the Empire, would you have it as an Empire, Scum or First Order ship?

Uglies really ought to be scum, to be honest. Much as I don't really want to give them more stuff.

Well, the Chir'Daki is a bit more of a Rebel vessel.
