Rule concerning gi light, force light, black one

Can you resolve the special after you reroll into a specail?

Also a side question on partnership can you play this card if you have no supports seeing that it's worded similar to jet pack

1. No, there is an explicit ruling against that. The one that kinda sneaks by is Holocron since it's not rerolling itself but bringing in a new die that could potentially hit a special.

2. I'm not 100% on the exact ruling of this so I wouldn't mind someone else confirming, but you need to be able to resolve all of the instruction text of an event unless it's proceeded by 'may' (ex: you may spend 1 resource to take an additional action). In the same line of thinking you can't just play hit and run with no red characters out to get the extra action from ambush, not that you'd really want to.

Ok acknowledge on the first question as for the second question, I'm still not to sure about as your example of hit and run does work even if you have no characters able to just like you can play enrage when you have no blue character I understand that you might not be able to complete the second action of the card but with the wording the first action can be completed since it's worded like jet pack, as to why some one would do this if they can't resolve the then action, just think of it as a way around running interference

After running through the rulebook i think you might be right, in the rules about Spotting it says that a card can be played that does nothing. This would imply that you just try to resolve as much as you're capable of doing, which may be nothing. I don't see anywhere that says explicitly either way but it seems to lean towards your interpretation

1. "A player cannot resolve the same die more than once per action." p.14

2. "In order to resolve an effect that is preceded by the word “then,” the previous effects on the card must have fully resolved" p.19, so you can activate your character or support but without both you can't spend 1 resource to gain one more action.
