Twilight Imperium RPG (Genesys Edition)

By pklevine, in Genesys

So, one of the things that was confirmed in the recent TI4 documentary was that FFG doesn't consider the old Twilight Imperium RPG to be canon. That makes it hard not to wonder, are there any plans -- or at least possibilities -- for a new Twilight Imperium RPG using the Genesys system? After all, few other board games boast a setting as robust, exciting, and interesting. I can't imagine I'm the only one who would love to see this.

Indeed. I've mentioned often how much I would like a TI RPG.

At least a single book seems extremely likely. If they are going to the effort to produce a generic RPG ruleset they are going to want at least a moderate library of settings to go with it, so I expect we'll see several of FFGs original properties in fairly short order.

Things that may or may not factor into the creation of a TI Genesys setting book:

  • Sales of the [confirmed] Android setting book.
  • Sales of the Legends of the Five Rings setting book.
  • Sales of the Arkham Horror setting book (though I'm not sure which would come first, AH or TI).

well, I actually don't see the legends getting a big support as it is not Genesys complete, it is only a small support for Genesys and since they have their on dice for the system. I would think they would have made it more supported towards the GENESYS system since they are trying for a big push for the system. I was thinking of getting legends until I found i`t was not Genesys. I would pick up Android and maybe Arkham only of it is supported by Genesys.
If they end up doing a TI that is backed by the GENESYS system I will support the game as I do see alot of potential from the Game enviroment and if they have free reign of the system as well, there could be alot of sourcebooks for the system.

Same here, the moment they announced L5R wouldn't be Genesys, I lost interest at once. They use some hybrid system of this roll&keep and narrative kind of dice. Yet again it simply beats me, why they didn't went for Genesys. But to each its own, I'll do my Genesys conversion of L5R based on my Rokugan D20 books.

Keep me informed on your conversion and i might be able to help you like you are helping me with dragonstar.
