Smart Vessery

By Lobokai, in X-Wing Squad Lists

The thought here is that Quickdraw simply will have a lock on whatever she's already fired at and the Inquisitor may not always use his, so Vessery should often have 1 and occasionally have 2 good targets that allow his ability to trigger. Not much of a bid, and I thought about dropping the TIEmkIIs and putting Juke for PTL, but I think I'm good as is... given that I'm going to fly small Imperial craft, thoughts?

I'd do VI on Vessery (so he can shoot before Inquisitor uses his lock) and VI or at least adapt on Quickdraw since you have no bid. VI if Nym is everywhere in your meta, else adapt is fine. This means wired turns into VI, and you either lose MK.II on vessery or primed on Quick for VI on Vessery.

Just think if Quickdraw is focused down first, the rest of the game, Inquisitor cant use his target lock, or else Vessery doesnt have a tarket lock. Make them the same PS is priority #1. Quickdraw is open, but VI is REALLY good on her right now.

Good points... Nym occasionally shows up, but bombs are considered super troll in our meta, so not very often. However I want to play with my eye on play outside the FLGS, so good points. Thanks

We do have some stress throwing in our local meta... so if anyone runs into that, here's a decent Zen list with Vessery and some SFs for dealing with that (or at least I've done well with it):

I really like TIE/D on Vessery and ran him with an ion cannon and a light QD/Backdraft list, although that was before I had LWF and adjusted how I build my SF's. That title gets more out of his pilot ability than x7, so I'd highly recommend using that in the build if possible. Tractor beam is equally nasty if you're getting his PS up above many of your other ships. I don't like wired, but there is practically 0 stress in my local meta, so I get why you're running it. Any tips you'd give for flying your own stress list or up against one?
