Beasty Things

By Darth Meanie, in X-Wing

Purrgil

Purrgil can serve as moving obstacles during play. They are deployed on side of the player with Initiative, pointing diagonally to the far corner of the play area. Purrgil is placed at Range 1 of one another. A pod of 3-6 Purrgil is reasonable.

On Turn 0, roll an Attack die for each Purrgil in play. On a blank, move 1 Forward. On a Focus, move 1 Bank. On a Hit, Move 2 Forward, On a Crit, move 2 Bank.

When Banking, always move towards another Purrgil if possible, even if this means the Purrgil will bump (to maintain pod integrity).

Purrgil may be killed. The have 1 Agility, and 6 HP. Crits count as 2 damage.

Space Slug

Choose 1 asteroid to be inhabited by a space slug. Place a token on that asteroid to indicate that it is inhabited. Any ship approaching within Range 1 of the asteroid is attacked with 3 dice and suffers all hits and crits. The ship may defend normally. The slug only attacks once per round at the beginning of the combat stage (PS 12). If multiple ships are within Range 1, the slug attacks the nearest ship only.

Space Slugs may be killed. The have 1 Agility, and 8 HP. Crits count as 2 damage. Destroying the asteroid the space slug resides in also kills it.

PS wrong

Space whales? The game needs space whales!

Edit: You changed the name!

Double edit: Nope, you added the slugs... I hope Purgill are space whales...

Mynocks

On any turn that a ship ends within Range 1 of an asteroid, roll 1 Attack Die. On a Hit, that ship becomes infested with a mynock.

Once infested, a ship rolls at the beginning of each turn. On a Blank, nothing happens. On a Focus, the ship receives an Ion Token. This functions just as Ionization does during the game. On a Hit, the ship receives 2 Ion Tokens. On a Critical hit, the ship receives 2 Ion Tokens and suffers one damage.

On any turn, the ship may use its Action to remove the mynock.

Should it be at the end of combat with a PS0?

Force Owl

During the place forces step after all ships have been placed, put a Force Owl on one Asteroid. At the start of the combat phase assign a focus token to one friendly ship at Range 1-2 of the Force Owl.

Nice!

Not exactly authentic, but I have these from Reaper Minis:

And these days, I wonder if 3 dice is too wimpy; space slug power creep to 4 dice :o

They don't seem to be much more than a physical menace. You could use the Purrgil rules but put them on a large base.
