New Gate Mechanics, Character Relationships, Herald, and Dark Pact temptation cards....sounds fun..that is all.

The only bad thing about this expansion is that the custom wooden case I am building will have to be redesigned once I get this expansion...****!

If only I knew what was all included and how many of each...I could design it now.

Sounds fun! Relationships will work beautifully with my party games. I hope Dark Pacts work better than Corruptions, and it would be nice if they could be used without the Herald (but I won't hold my breath on that).

18 Gate Markers? But there's 24 Gate Markers. If I'm not playing with Dunwich or Kingsport, will I end up playing with less than 16 Gate Markers? Still, mobile Gates sounds very exciting!

18? Maybe it's one for each gate (12), and then doubles for all 12? I'd hate to see Dunwich's and Kingsport's other worlds get less frequent, in addition to having fewer OW-specific encounters.

i dont have any expansions yet... i have been playing the base game all last week and loving it. My girlfriend made me wait until i get a week off next week to buy an expansion... and i am going to get Dunwich... but, as i traul through reviews and posts about the various expansions i have to say this new one looks like it will be the best small one yet, i am not so keen on the play idea (KiY) although there seems like good elements to this expansion- I like the egypt angle though with DP (probably get that one as well next week) ... black goat of the woods seems like it is more about story like than playability ( and that is fine coz I value story line and have always secretly wanted to join a cult) and KH seems like a lame duck and IH seems too hard for my lobotomised musician friends... so i will wait with IH...

and so i say YAY to this new one! I will buy! (girlfriend loves the relationship angle... coop game is already a hit this just adds some serious girl points!!!)

Now, let's see if FFG can get the new FAQ out before we'll pester them with new questions regarding this new expansion.

And it's sad to see they apparently won't include printed out Dark Pharaoh and Dunwich Horror Heralds with this one either.

I had the similar "Woo-hoo" experience when I came into the office.

Me: "Arkham Horror just updated its RSS feed, which means OH MY GOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!"

Me: "... And that's why it was both unexpected that this would happen and why it's a big deal!"

Coworker: "Ah." **resumes checking email**

By the way DoctorDR, while your insane enthusiasm is commendable, you should be warned, *all* the small expansions look cool, before they're opened ;'D

(Although I'll admit I'm really excited about this one, at the very least the relationship cards and the new gates will function effectively and permanently).

It looks like roaming gates will start to solve the issue of sealing high-frequency gates: if the gate moves away, the high-frequency unstable location will be open again for another gate! For low-frequency gates this will not matter much at all.

Additionally, this will (may) mark the first small expansion that has universally compatible variants: relationship cards and roaming gates. No longer will we have to wait for a big-box to get components the likes of Epic Battle and Personal Stories!

I really like the idea of relationship cards. What makes these investigators so special out of the many Arkham citizens anyhow? Perhaps it's their deep connection to one another.

Looking forward to this already. All the expansions are great in their own way.

Those new gate tokens on the press release haven't any names of the Other Worlds on them..?
