I've been searching for information on the upcoming 2017-2018 Regionals which I understand will run from Nov-Apr? I cant find ANY Information even on the FFG site.
Any idea when we'll hear something about dates and locations for Regionals?
Also, can someone explain the whole tournament schedule from Store to Worlds? I'm new to X-Wing and am confused. We were having Store Championships just a month ago then NOVA. Seems like Regionals should have been between Store Champs and NOVA??
I'm bumping this because I too am confused about the order of x-wing tournaments. Is the odd schedule an after effect of the new rotation that FFG is moving to?
the applications for stores to hold them went in two weeks ago. I would not expect anything until about this time next month.
The old OP schedule went as follows: Quarter 1 Store Championships, Q2 was Regionals, Q3 was Nationals, Culminating with Worlds in November. FFG has now put all of their Star Wars games on a different OP schedule to host worlds in May. X-wing and Netrunner became too big to host at the same time.
While SC's and Regionals will follow the new time line, Nationals have been thrown way off. This is due to nationals usually being held at already established conventions, ie UK games exp, Gencon, Origins, etc. Finding venues within the new time table hasn't happened yet and we are left with a goofy looking OP schedule.
As far as this year's regionals goes, I'd expect to hear something next month.
Stores will be notified Sept. 23rd, if they made the cut to host Regionals.
At least that's what I understood from my application.

Not that I know of. I had another store owner tell me his paperwork said he'd be notified Sept 26th. So, maybe tomorrow.
Last Year, the online announcement and Store List was not made until October 16th (or was it 18th).
Because the Season doesn't start until November. No Regionals will be held before the 1st of November.
This year, we've been told (even here in Canada) that we'd know "around" the 27th.
So, yes, maybe tomorrow.

i had a similar question in the main group. was the news really that late last year? i feel like i had a bunch of reservations made for different regionals by august.
No, dates were out 8/23 last year. This is borderline ridiculous.
Argh. So nothing yet? My job requires some pretty advanced planning to get time off. Really am hoping to make a regional this year

For some reason I have a reminder on my calendar to check for regional dates on Oct 19. Not sure where I got that date.
my guess is that Star Wars Regionals will happen after the World Championships of the other games. That way there is no overlap. But then again i could be wrong

The host store, Pandemonium, announced it on the X-wing Michigan Facebook group.
Wow! Can’t believe stores are announcing and FFG still hasn’t.
They may have received an email stating that they have a spot.
Which suck cause I really planned on digging deep to promote my event. Guess my venue isn't big enough.

Jubilee Games will not be hosting Regionals.
