Batrep:

Mission S1: Probe the Shield.

Round 1 - Bull rush.

Round 2 - The Nebulon-B's 6 Quad Lasers and double primary shots were hot and destroyed or damaged 4 TIEs. Rebel fighters cleaned up the damaged ones. The Shield Gate's turbolasers made easy work of the U-wing (the only ship in range), destroying it with just 4 of its 10 turbolasers.

End of round - 4 dead Ties, 1 dead U-wing.

3 Academy TIEs are deployed - 2 from the Shield Gate and 1 from Krennic (per his "ARE WE BLIND? DEPLOY THE GARISSON!" ability).

Round 3 - Uneventful. A lot of bumping started to slow things down.

1 TIE and 1 X-wing destroyed.

3 TIEs deployed.

Round 4 - The Nebulon-B scored 3 hits on the Shield Gate. The Shield Gate responded with 5 hits to the Nebulon-B's fore section.

2 TIEs and 1 X-wing destroyed.

3 TIEs deployed.

Round 5 - Taking losses and heavy damage, the Rebels feel the need to press the attack. The Nebulon-B recovered its shields and hit the Shield Gate for 5 more damage, destroying 2 turbolaser towers, but is drained of energy in the process. The Scarif Defenders hit its weak spar section and removed 4 shields. The Shield Gate had cold dice and only managed 2 hits on the Nebulon-B's fore section despite targeting it with all 8 remaining turbolaser towers.

3 more TIEs deployed for a total of 13. I only own 12, so one suffered the indignity of flying Sabine's TIE as a proxy.

Round 6 - The TIE swarm is real. The Rebels got desperate, facing the unrelenting waves of TIE reinforcements, and Admiral Raddus turned to his signature move - the ram. The Nebulon-B rammed and destroyed 3 TIEs, suffering just 1 damage. The GR-75 whiffed on a ram attempt. It's been ineffective all game, getting stuck in traffic. Garven Dreis snuck through and scored a hit on the Shield Gate. The Nebulon-B's dice went cold and only scored 2 hits on the Shield Gate but knocked out a 3rd turbolaser tower. The Scarif Defenders targeted the Nebulon-B's spar section and left the section without shields.

Rebels were down to just 5 ships remaining.

3 TIEs deployed.

Round 7 - The Nebulon-B rammed 3 more TIEs, narrowly missing its own Y-wing, but took all 3 damage from the collisions to its fore section. It recovered 4 shields but was once again depleted of energy. It couldn't fire its quads as it was using all its energy to recover its shields that were being drained from the overwhelming Imperial presence. The Nebulon-B scored 6 hits on the Shield Gate, reducing it to nearly half of the 40 total HP required to move to part 2 of the scenario (each of the 10 turbolasers has 4 HP).

3 TIEs deployed.

Round 8 - The Nebulon-B crushed 2 more TIEs. Garven Dreis got hot and hit the Shield Gate for 3 damage, knocking out turbolaser tower #5 The Nebulon-B, having recovered some energy, hit the Shield Gate for a whopping 10 damage, knocking out turbolaser towers 6, 7 and 8. The Shield Gate was left with just 8 HP and 2 turbolaser towers. The Nebulon-B's spar section is destroyed, leaving it with just one reinforce action per round instead of 2.

3 TIEs deployed

Round 9 - Dutch Vander suffered friendly-fire ramming and got run over by the Nebulon-B as it closed to within reach of the Shield Gate with all of its Quad Lasers. The GR-75 finally showed up and ran over a TIE. The Nebulon-B destroyed the last two turbolaser towers on the Shield Gate, sending the scenario to part 2.

In the end, the Nebulon-B carried the day but lost its spar section and was reduced to 26 of its 52 total hull + shield HPs. The Rebels limped out of part 1 with the Nebulon-B crippled, 1 Rookie Pilot with zero shields left, the Lothal Rebel down to 2 hull, Dreis down to 1 hull and the GR-75 down to 1 shield - a hard-fought victory.

Mission S2: "I Have an Idea".

This part of the scenario required some deft maneuvering as the TIEs attempted to block the Y-wings from deploying their proton torpedoes. In the end, the Rebels lost a Y-wing and the Lightmaker lost all its shields and was reduced to 6 of its 12 hull as it suffered 3 straight direct hit crits from ramming the ISD 3 times to push it into the second ISD - another hard fought victory. On to Round 3.

Mission S3: Hope.

Round 1 and 2 were uneventful.

Round 3 saw the Lambda deal 4 damage to the Tantive IV.

In Round 4, the CR-90 recovered 4 shields and the Lambda hit it for 3 damage.

The Imperials were desperate in Round 5 and sacrificed the Lambda and a TIE Bomber in a last-ditch effort to cripple the Tantive IV before it could hyper out. The Cr-90's forward hull suffered 1 damage but it was not enough. The remaining TIEs couldn't add any damage and the Tantive IV escaped with the Death Star plans in Round 6. The CR-90 lost 1/3 of its 24 total HP, with most of the damage coming from the Lambda

Cool. Great pics. Love the idea of constantly regenerating TIEs. Where do we get the rules for all the missions?

Where did you get the mats!? And how much?

There's no rules, really. I tried to keep the rules simple with a lot of ships and a lot of eye candy.

Basically, the Shield Gate has 10 turbolasers at 4 HP each that must be taken out to advance to round 2. They fire at range 3-5 with 4 attack dice and the defender doubles their agility. Since the Shield Gate is loaded with turbolasers (and to simplify things and prevent further mat clutter), they can fire from anywhere inside the main body of the Shield Gate (not from the antenna thingies). Any hit on the Shield Gate is applied to each turbolaser in order - every 4 HP of damage removes a turbolaser until all 10 are gone.

For Round 2, the Y-wing must score a proton torpedo hit on the forward-most ISD before the Lightmaker can ram it into the other ISD. It's just run and gun. I had to clear out some TIEs with strategic ramming by the corvette to free up the Y-wing bombing run as they were trying to block. The Lightmaker title card allows the ship to physically move Huge ships [1] straight forward each turn. It takes 3 "shoves" to cause the collision and move to Round 3.

For Round 3, the Tantive IV must fill the hyperspace card with 6 tokens to hyper out. It gets one token per round, so it's 6 rounds. It must survive the 6th round to hyper out, though.

The Empire, of course, must try to destroy everything before the Rebels whisk away with the plans.

Thank you! This took 5 months to design and assemble. Some of the work was done on commission. The Nebulon-B was commission painted by Luke at Exploding Car Repaints, the Lightmaker proxy was commission painted by Sue at Masterpiece Miniatures and the GR-75 wreck was a commission job done by TableTopGameShop. The overall design, mission parameters, custom table-topper, stat cards, dials, laminated pieces, etc, were done by me. The Scarif mat is from Inked Gaming from a picture by Mel's Miniatures. Credit where due. There were some talented players in this little production of mine.

This is awesome!

I have a lot more pics of this scenario that I didn't put in the album. Maybe, I'll make another album sometime with the ones that didn't make the cut. I didn't figure people wanted to look at 40 pics. Lol

I really love this! This is what XWM *should* be all about!!

Im very jealous of the nebulon and the destroyed GR-75.

It's from Inked Gaming using a pic from Mel's Miniatures.

They're great, aren't they? Wish I could take credit but they're commission jobs done by real pros. I'm just starting out with my miniature painting. I'm nowhere near that good (yet).
