Omega Leader has not been that good for some time now. PS8 just ain't that amazing right now. For 26 points he does not do enough damage.

I think you have way too high expectations.

I'm having to learn the same thing even with the my rebel ships in the current meta.

My advice against bombers is hug the edges. This restricts their options for bombing runs. Imperials are very nimble so it'll be much easier than with big bulky rebels, but also more important having less hull. When you do engage, try and approach at a 45 degree angle giving you the best options for dodging munitions and bombs. When you do go inside the mat, break formation and spread your ships as far apart as you can to mitigate as much bomb carnage as possible and hopefully bait a ship into following one of yours. The worst part about flying against ships like Miranda, Nym, Dengar etc is they don't need wingmates to function, but in any case taking the heat off some of your ships is always handy.

There's no real hard counters for the likes of Miranda or Nym right now, but hopefully some of the above will give you a better chance against them, along with the more basic tactics of focus fire/run and gun etc.
