Pelta with Shields to max, projection experts, Admiral Leia question

By joespahr, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I think I'm understanding the rules correctly here, but I want to make sure. The Shields to max card calls for an engineering token to be spent in order to increase all of your ships' shields. Because it specifically says spend a token, I can't then use my projection experts to move two shields and have the engineering points left over to regenerate two shields, right? (4 Engineering value only. I can't use the virtual token from Leia because I already spent an engineering token this turn to use shields to maximum.) But I can regenerate 1 shield using the leftover 2 engineering points. Right?

Incorrect.

The trigger for Shields to maximum is to Spend a Token. It is not to resolve an Engineering Command. The mistaken assumption above is that spending a token is resolving a command. it is not. :)

IF, for example:

You have an Engineering Token on your Pelta.

At the Start of the Turn, you spend the token for Shields to maximum.

When you get to the ships activation, you have not resolved an engineering cmmand, so you can totally use Leia (and her free Dial+Token if you resolve your dial) to generate all the engineering points as normal. Which, for a Pelta, would be 6 (4+2).

You can then use those 6 Engineering points as you see fit, as per the rules... Which can include spending up to 2 of them to send 2 Shields away, and then using 4 points to bring up the shields you just sent away.......

The only "problem' with it, at that point, is you don't now have to a token on the ship ready for next turn to do it all again...

Wow. Ok, thanks! (Already added Raymus to my list for this.)
