Rebel Competitive List Help - Miranda YY

The Ywings have worked well for me but still working with the remaining points. I hear Miranda is good. Seriously though I have four points and don't think a bid is huge help here. Suggestions?

I would either do:

1) bomb loadouts on the Ys with seismics or ions to double up on your EM + Sabine. Dropping Seismic/ion + kturn and proton torp can be serious damage. Ion would be nice for the following round able to torp again if need be. And if both Ys and Miranda all drop bombs, that is a huge area of nastiness not many ships will dodge.

2) ABT on Y's cause Nyms and Quickdraws and Vaders and Dengars are gonna b-roll out of your primary arcs.

3) Cluster on Miranda. It does two things, it adds 4pts to her total which is good in tournaments. 44pts is one more pt than scum nym. So, if you kill Nyms partner, and its Nym vs Miranda, Nym has to chase you (with TLT and bomblets) instead of you chasing him with ABT and bomblets.

I like both points 1 and 3. I had not actually considered bombs on the Ywings. I might have to try this.

Putting more points on Miranda was my first instinct.

you could:

Engine Upgrade on Miranda

put a missile or torp on Miranda with another guidance chips (if you have another)

bump a Grey up to Dutch to get a free TL so the other grey can have TL+Focus

Put Autoblaster turrets on the Ys

The problem with the bomb loadouts is that you give up either the torp or EM

Oh right... would have noticed that later. So the Greys are fixed as is then. Dutch isn't worth 3 points more for the 2 PS increase in this meta. With a different droid and VI, sure...

I was just tossing that out for a use of those points if you weren't going to use them for anything else. I would probably never put him in unless I had nothing better to use those points and if PS didn't matter.

No worries. I figured that was what you were doing.

Personally, I love flying Horton and Dutch as a pair.

I typically fly them with Hull upgrades and Biggs/R2, but this build with Miranda/Sabine looks really fun to fly!

I've got a Dutch list, and I've enjoyed Salm as well. I want the hitting power of the torpedoes. I'm pretty consistently getting 3 hits and a crit with the combination. If I roll 2 hits a blank and a focus, the guidance chips roll the blank and the proton torpedo rolls the focus into a crit. I get the occasional dud, but even off a k-turn the Y-Wings are dangerous early on. It means if somebody tries to eliminate Miranda early the Y-Wings hit hard.

I can't get any reasonable projectiles on Miranda unless I go with a single shot concussion missile, add in a guidance chip... It's a solid hit but only one. Might be of use to soften a target if they go for the Y-Wings first.

Well. Flew it at a local tournament though poor turnout... Three matches, two victories and nothing went to time. 0/3 in firing that concussion missile too. Match I lost I flew really badly and my opponent had a good solid approach. While I had some good bombing runs with Miranda, she never actually fired a shot... The Y-Wings continue to be strong but of course, only when pointed forward!

Anyway, I like it but don't feel it's competitive enough. Then again, never encountered those popular two ship sized lists.
