Happy Friday - If you could ask Paul Heaver any question....

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

HAppy Friday and HAppy X-wing weekend, so much goodness is coming it is all very exciting. Something that has been rolling around in my brain is I would love to pick Paul Heaver's Brain and I bet that other people feel the same So if you could ask him anything, what would you ask him?

I have never talked with Paul but I am hoping he will be a good sport and answer a question or three..........

How would he implement Droid(as in CIS style) ships if he could do it with unique mechanics? Possibly chaining them together with one as the lead containing the pilot skill and the others linked, and if that one is lost the others got zero perhaps?

I just want to know how to get husband credits to play at Gencon.

So ... what's Pao LeHever really like?

i asked paul this very question! From what i gather timing and tone are the most important aspects. I dont have a ton of insight into the wife system though.

I could see timing and tone. I think it would also be an understanding wife to allow as much travel as Paul gets! You all are nuts.

GenCon is once a year... It shouldn't be too hard for that. Just need to ask nicely well in advance! That said, a young one in the household keeps you grounded a bit. You could always extend the invite to the family. I brought my wife and daughter to GenCon a few years back. Now my daughter stays at grandmas until she's old enough to really enjoy it.

Wife just had a baby this past Sunday. I know you went through this recently. I am on cleaning, bottle, shopping, you name it duty since baby came via c-section and wife is still recovering a bit. I think I am earning a lot of points for at least some more plastic crack.

If you did all that extra work when baby arrived and still do, then I think that should qualify. :)

Happy Friday!

Is he happy with the direction of the game?

Where does he see the game being in his life 5-10 years from now?

This is a serious thread?

Really?

Why did he allow the Skurrg to happen?

Will he sign my alt art card?;):P

nah, I don't really have any questions of value to ask. Maybe just chat about Star Wars in between rounds or something.

This is a Cuban boy thread so it's automatically a fly casual thread by default.

So yeah.

I read his article about playing bombers because no one did; then winning with them. Will he do that kind of thing again?

Do you think you can win a tournament using a list that has 0 upgrade cards?

I always try to ask a good question to the community as a way to be up lifting and have fun within x-wing on Fridays, So yea it would be cool to ask Mr Heaver as question or two :-)

Oh, I forgot the question...

"Er... Uh... Hi.... Uh... Are you P-p-paul Heaver? Um... Good luck?"

There's also no higher learning than emulating the best, and to emulate the best, you must get into their mind. This is almost a hyper-competitive discussion, its at the very core of reaching for genius. =D

I would ask him my question because I want to know an even larger issue: What does Xwing mean to his life? What is the value of the time devoted to it? Is it just a fad, one of the millions of games to distract us? Or ... does it have lasting beauty?

@pheaver, I guess?

What his Lunch was. No ...

What his favourite ship is lore-wise. That's a safe one.

I'd like to know what his thought process is when weighing his next move vs his opponent's next move. He rarely seems to make the "Oh Crap" move in competitions.

BTW, Happy Friday CB! Excellent topic, as usual.

LOL

Oh, that movie takes me back.

Why "could"? Hes on the forums, I can ask him anything. Watch:

Yo @pheaver, are you able to grow a sexy biggs like moustache?

Done!

Happy Friday !

I have one(or two) question(s) : How FFG process when you have design your own upgrade card (Boba fett crew for exemple) ?, Did they give you full control of your work or they give you limits ?

There's even one more thought: no jealous problems.

I mean, the wife can always watching the husband on streamin, isn't it? lol she will see him with a lot of old kids, moving some plastic starships on a painted table.

I'd ask him "What do you do to stay awake and alert during a long tournament?" second question would be "Where is a good place to eat?"
