Hello , i dont own any of the SW RPGS unfortunantly, but i can get one core rule book of this version for 36£ . IS this a good deal ? is the book worth it ?
Is this a good deal ?
over here in germy it costs 60 € with the curent excange rate that would be 33% off... I would take it, as long as you are interessted in RPGs but remember that you'll need the FFG SW dice to play.
(if you haven't played the game yet you may should get the beginners box and of course gather some of your friends to actually play the game ^^)
Yes.
It is a well constructed rule set with an innovative dice system that allows for collaborative storytelling. If you are familiar with other RPGs you are likely to find FFG's take on SW refreshing and novel.
Further, the core book contains everything you need to run a game. It includes a short adventure to get you started.
You will need a set of the specialty dice to play, but there is a dice rolling app that will suffice.
"Technically" you don't need the specialty dice. There is a conversion chart in the book (pg12) to convert standard d6, d8 and d12's. And there are free dice rolling apps.......... However, that being said you should definitely still buy the dice because the conversion is super clunky and who doesn't Love rolling dice?!
I suppose the one exception is if you were to play online exclusively in which case you might not need the dice.

The Core books are good. Really all you need to run the game. Lots of additional supplements that add to the game but a core book is all that is needed.

This. If you don't mind using a (very well put-together) phone/tablet app instead of physical dice, this is by far the most bang for your buck. You don't need anything besides the $5 dice app and a copy of the rules to play.

This is indeed an exception
There are three great rollers in particular, each with their pros and cons.
https://dice.owenmead.com/ allows you to create a static URL that functions as a "room" that you are your friends can use for a quick session, or revisit for an extended play-by-post. It also has a rather unique GUI for tracking Destiny Points. However, by nature it is accessible by anyone on the internet, so a troll could potentially mess up your game. It also has a nuclear option that allows one to clear the entire room, which is potentially both a boon and a curse
http://orokos.com/roll/ is fantastic for play-by-post, but too slow for much else. Its BIG pro is that it allows the posting of BBCode dice images to forums, with the results displayed prominently on the dice images and automatically cancelled out by the accompanying text. But like I said, it's too slow to use for live play.
http://game2.ca/eote/ is a lightweight dice roller app that's great if you just wanna roll some dice. It doesn't have a way of tracking rolls or a history of rolls, but it's by far the fastest dice roller app out there (even faster than the official iOS/android one). The one drawback is that it doesn't have a way of rolling d10 or d100, so you'll have to look elsewhere to roll your critical injuries during combat, or Obligation at the start of your session.

At least for android, there are also free non official dice apps, which support SW dice. Though, none of them are close to FFG dice app at usability, but they work. But FFG dice app is totally worth the price. Even if one has enough dice.
And to OP. Do you want to play this game? If you want to play, I'd say yes. If you don't then it will be fairly useless. Price seems ok.
thanks for answers guys, i'm still thinking of it . beside the core book and dice , what could i get to help me even more with the game ?
is it wrong to have for example a gm kit of FnD with the core book of EoE ?

not wrong but will include info that you will be missing a framework for. Probably best thing to do is pick a genre you want to start with. Then add supplements as needed.
IE for rebel stuff get age of Rebellion and the GM kit and beginner game( has dice and a really good intro to the system. For Han Solo types get Edge of the Empire and GM kit and Beginner game. For force users get Force and Destiny and GM kit and beginner game.
The beginner games are the best value for dice as the dice are 15 bucks and the beginner game includes dice and an adventure and maps and tokens for that adventure.
my proble

the problem is that is all too expensive.. and hard to get where i live. i always wanted to start with EoE but then FnD is out and i wanted that, but i cant find the core book in the country i live. i thought it was a good deal when i saw but i dont know.
Just start with one book and the beginner game. You don't have to get it all at once. And your best bet is likely to be something like Amazon or some other local online bookseller. Or ordering from a local bookstore. As those will have better access and since they are having a lot of other books shipped to them anyway you wont get nailed as hard on shipping. One book is all you need. You can add more later. The beginner game is just the best deal on dice. As dice are 15 bucks and a beginner game is 20 bucks with a bunch more stuff. YOu may as well spend 5 bucks more and get an adventure, maps, tokens and a set of dice.
The GM Kits for Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion have some fantastic resources for a Force and Destiny game. However, the FaD GM Kit is of more limited usefulness for the other games, depending on how Force-focused those games end up being.
But any of the GM Kits should work fine for you and give you stuff to work with. The one for EotE has Nemesis-advancement rules, which are great for that bad guy that your players keep running into, but he keeps getting better and better.
