Rapid Launch Bays

By ndogg229, in Star Wars: Armada

Just played a friendly game with two Rebel transports that each had two b-wings hiding in their rapid launch bays. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! They destroyed two opposing raiders and the threat of being able to drop them made flying the transports really interesting. Has anyone else had fun Rapid Launch Bay experiences? What ships should I try them on next?

I've heard an Engine Tech'd Command Pelta loaded with Bwings can be pretty fun. :)

Engine tech'd Hmc80 command :D

Hopefully the MC75 can support the offensive retrofit so it can take rapid launch bays. If so, that ship might become the most interesting on in the game, a nesting doll for ships.

Rebels love RLBs - do you have Quantum Storm on your GR-75? If not try that and see how close to your opponents deployment zone you can get those Bs on turn one ;)

Been looking to try them on an AF too, will Gallant Haven and a Jamming field nearby...

don't forget you need flight commander to be using them after maneuver

Lol, yeah - kind of a given with RLB :)

You'd also need a Nav token and squad command to do so...

Would use them with AF, drop a double arc, fly up and vomit b wings on the target.

I've always dreamed of doing an ackbar slash between a couple ISD or VSD with an MC80 command and dropping 4 B-wings. Combine that with Sato as a commander and you'd have one heck of a nasty combo....if you could get the ship into position.

Honestly, I haven't played much with RLBs, but I keep coming up with cool scenarios where they'd work....if your carrier survived.

Gram can do it.

Deploy ship at one speed slower than max. Set squadron command dial.

Have Gram do nav tokens. Spend nav token to speed up, engine tech.

I'm getting around to the "lets find the niche builds" for this wave. Maybe time to step back and have fun with RLB.

Oh Lordy will I try to abus RLB once Raddus arrives

MC 75 pops cr90 which pops mc 80 which then pops bwings. Aaaaaah

For the Star Destroyer with first player with a hapless victim at close range? Heck yeah it was! ;)

In all seriousness, it's effective, especially given the Pelta's surprising durability, but first player and/or subtlety definitely help a lot.

I did a game with RLB on an ISD. Its squad value was also increased by 1. Had 4 ties and Boba in there. Dropped them right next to my opponents commandship. Sloan made sure the ties hit home. Boba finished it off. It was glorious.

Yeah, the crazy stacking you could do here. An entire fleet stacked into a single CR90.

The Pelta with Raddus RLBs B's while deploying the MC75 Profundity which RLBs more B's and deploys a hammerhead which RLBs another B.

Honestly, Raddus could do some interesting stuff like this. Raddus drops the pelta into a point where it could RLB B's into the rear arc of something juicy.

Yep - Comms Net a Nav token over. Thing is the list then tends to build itself once you add Yavaris, Intel, Escort and Relay into it.

Still, I got 8th in the Euros with it! ;)
