I'm in a quandary and in need of some advise..

By T70 Driver, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This upcoming Saturday I will be playing in a de-escalation tournament. It's the reverse of an escalation tournament. It starts with 120 points in the first game and you subtract 30 points before each of the next rounds.

My round 2 list is:

Omega Leader with Juke, Comm Relay & Shield (30)

Inquisitor with PTL, title & Autothrusters (31)

Dutchess with Expertise, LWF & Adaptive Ailerons (29)

Omega Leader is my last round ship. My question is which of the other 2 do I pair with OL for round 3, Dutchess or The Inquisitor without Autothrusters?

I'd go with duchess. With less in play, she'll likely spend alot of time out of arc, Or drop the shield from OL to keep thrusters on Quiz.

just food for thought, you can run OL and Fel for 60. PTL,AT,TargComp on Fel and Juke/comm on OL. I haven't gotten to try it out yet, but the escalation list I have starts there.

This gave me an idea that I hadn't thought of. Since I only needed a single point, I decided to replace the Shield Upgrade on Omega Leader with a Hull Upgrade. This way Omega Leader keeps his 5 health and The Inquisitor keeps his Autothrusters...a win-win. Now let's see how it does on Saturday.

Well, the tournament is over and it looked like I made the correct choice on OL. I went 4-0 with a 512 MOV to win my first tournament ever.

Congrats on your win! As a side note for OL, shield and hull upgrade block exactly 1 damage. You're always guaranteed that and no more. Have you had much luck with or inclination to try a stealth device? 4 agility, an evade token, at least one opponent's ship not able to modify dice against you and the possibility of range 3 shots or asteroids give you a pretty good shot at avoiding much more than 1 damage for the same investment, although there is always that possibility of losing it for nothing with a horrible roll.
