Rune: Fiery Doom

By Hein99, in Runebound

The Rune 'Fiery Doom' states:

Before Combat: Activate to make a magic attack. If your Hero succeeds, your enemy's combat values are reduced by 2 for this combat round.

When it says 'combat values' does this mean both numbers in all of Ranged, Melee and Magic are reduced? For example if 'Skeleton of Margath' values are:

17/2 19/3 18/3

For the first round of combat would they become?

15/0 17/1 16/1

(And I'll assume a number can't go below zero)

I know some card that have similar effect but state 'damage values' specifically. So in this case does that mean only the first values (17, 19, 18) are reduced by 2 or all numbers (first value and damage value)?

If the first value/number is actually called the 'combat value' I would think this card does not affect the damage value but maybe the term 'combat value' refers to both numbers in Ranged, Melee and Magic??

TIA!

Hi,

From what I remember this card only has a cost of 6 (might be 8 - I can't remeber), so it would seem quite cheap to reduce damage values by 2. It was my interpretation that it only reduces combat values (RNG/Melee/Magic) by 2 for the first combat round

Booster is right.

Combat values are Mind/Body/Spirit values, added to Ranged/Melle/Magic combat rolls. This Rune doesn't reduce damage as well.

Excellent. Good to know.
Thanks guys.
