Hey folks. Been away from the game a few months. Is there anyone still using the Jumpmaster ? I really like the ship, and the model, but is it still a viable ship? What are some builds that folks are having success with?
Thanks

You've really been out of it.
Two nerfs later and Jumpmasters are as effective ad ever. Triple Jumps made some of the top tables at US nationals and Dengar/Nym is a top list.

Oh boy...
Yes. Dengar is still as strong as ever, even in consideration of the potential nerf the ship is getting.
Triple Jumps with Intel has seen a lot of play lately. Here's a recent game with them:

Numbers 10 and 11.
Everyone above is either a 4 ship rebels varient, a miranda/x varient, or Scum Nuym and Scum Fen Rao.

yes, 3 jumps still have a good amount of HP behind 2 agi to chew, can still torp and block you. They are very alive and well.
Dengar remains probably the best single ship in the game.
Not sure who Travis Johnson is on the forums....but paging that dude because.....they clearly are still super strong with a good player at the controls. Great game to watch even if the "match up" makes my imperial skin crawl....

Hello...

Perhaps you should edit that to say "Hello there" with an Obi-Wan pic attached? ![]()
Yes they are, at least at recent US Nationals

Not sure which is more appropriate as a response.
(Imagine 3 Intel Cheeseburgers vs 3 Intel Cheeseburgers on the final table)
It would basically be this back and forth.

Is this some kind of sick joke? At my club I see jumpmasters every week and they are still absolute killers.
They are just far too cheap with an amazing dial and huge amount of upgrades leading to many broken combos.
Edited by william1134It's interesting to note though how far Dengar fell. If NOVA is any indication then you should still go with Scouts.
Yes just like triple def in my area !
Let me just check...
...yep it's still the best ship in the game. Everyone as you were.

I think Triple Scouts are coming back, conditions are ripe for them to return in a more controlling form. They've got the hull to deal with bombs and their little turrets are solid against the low agility meta, everything is lining up for them pretty well. Plenty of slooping & pooping!

People are relatively slow to adapt though. Wave 11 shows that Dengar was played way way more often (381 vs 149). And yet Scouts are where the performance is way better (>4% difference)

"Slooping and pooping" XD
thats a pretty dirty toilet seat.
It's a little trolly of me to say so, but I really hate the jumpmaster. Barely even recognizable as a Star Wars ship, its got way to many upgrade slots, and as most Scum ships it pays too little to be significantly better than the closest imperial.
If I could ban two things from X-Wing, it'd be jumpmasterds and TLTs (though bombs would be tempting). That might return a little dogfighting and maneuvers mattering to a game that used feature and draw people to it for those very things.

I mean, you're not wrong that they're not very recognizable, but basically almost every scum ship isn't. Scum wasn't in the movies much.
Also... Nym :-/

I recognized it pretty much right away, but only because it was featured in Decipher's Star Wars CCG back in the day.
Then again, recognizability is sort of arbitrary, and probably not a good reason not to include something. I mean, of course we want to make sure we include the most recognizable ships, but that doesn't mean we need to exclude less common ones.
Personally, I watched TFA about a dozen times before I saw the Quadjumper miniature, and never would have guessed it was from that movie. It was only after someone mentioned it and I rewatched the movie explicitly looking for it that I noticed it. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game, though; discovering new ships is fun!
