Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have been doing a lot of thinking about Runebound and whether or not to give it a try.

To the OCD part of my brain, this means of course that I would have to get everything released for the game, down to the 4 promo figures and card sets.

So... given that Runewars is part of Terrinoth I was wondering if the Heroes might be interchangeable with Runebound? Are the Hero cards similar in make up? Do they already exist in Runebound perhaps?

I hope that made sense... brain not quite active yet...

The 12 Heroes in Runewars are the same 12 Heroes in Runebound and Descent's base games. however, the similarity doesn't go very far - the way the Heroes interact in Runewars is different than the other two, and thus the abilities and skills don't really "match" either of the others.

Of course, it probably wouldn't be hard to write custom Hero cards for the other Heroes, with some playtesting.

It is indeed a quandary. I find myself wondering how (or even if) FFG will address the question of making RW cards for the 4 promo figs that have been released for RB and Descent. Releasing Nara the Fang in a Descent expansion with her RB card was a bit surprising to me, since it implied RB fans who don't own Descent might need to buy a Descent expansion to get her. Hopefully they will release her in an upcoming RB expansion to level the playing field.

But what about RW? Just release the cards in an expansion and hope people have the minis? I doubt that would go over well with people who don't have them. I'll probably end up making custom cards for them at some point.
