I'm sure there's minis games with no cards, as well as no dice. Doesn't mean XWing would be better off without either. Someone once pointed out that the cards and minis are redendent in this game, with the ship, dice, templets and tokens being the only needed elements to play the game.

Come on fuzzy, spit it out. Were you talking about specific cards placed in packs for folks that buy things like Interceptors that need PTL, Autothrusters, Stealth device and such?

Guys, it's attack wing releasing only cardboard expansion packs for thier ships, without minis. Something I think s few xwing fans were clamoring for in regard to patching some xwing ships.

I take it as one more nail in the coffin of the blatant cash grab that was star trek: attack wing. Good riddance.

I agree, it is just this again (directed at the OP)? Another game that has nothing to do with Star Wars and is not connected to FFG did a business decision and the OP thinks that FFG should follow that decision...why? Because the OP doesn't know any better and thinks more pilot/upgrade cards will fix the meta instead of ruin it even more with massive accretion.

Wings of War seemed to have its fans in the cards only version, now it certainly is not a hit like X-Wing TMG, but it neither had the star wars franchise nor tons of collectors who did not gave a flying **** about the game and just buy the stuff to collect the models.

The game was released a year after X-Wing came out, and is already up to 31 expansions. That is an absolutely absurd amount of bloat.

I'm begging you. We don't want FFG to follow the Wizkids model.

With the gunboat and the silencer release I can stop both.

Not sure if it is actually true or not but wasn't it supposed to be that FFG's contract with Disney for X-wing allows them to sell figures specifically so all cards need to be bundled with figs?

Okay, but, Hypothetical.

What if FFG maintained their current release schedule... And when the equivalent of Wave 30 comes along (which might be around Wave 20 based on number of ships and all, in a couple of years)... Would you entertain the idea then of the card-only based refit mechanic pack in order to prolong the life of the Game of X-Wing ?
