Most actually- I don't know that "we'll never do..." was the actual quote but in various interviews and discussions all but maybe multi-faction and subfactions were noted as not happening. Former design teams used to talk about the game a lot more. Then when the nevers became reality they stopped.

You sure? Because the only one I remember even seeing anything about was 3rd faction and the only thing FFG ever said was not right now , which is a BIG difference from never. I mean they may have said those thing and I do see the forum echo chamber saying the sky is falling, but I can't remember seeing FFG statements about those and would be surprised if they really shut the door with a never instead of we are happy with where it is right now.

I take it as one more nail in the coffin of the blatant cash grab that was star trek: attack wing. Good riddance.

STAW also reprinted old ships repeatedly with different cards to the point that people weren't buying models anymore. They also changed their OP kits to be cardboard only (probably cheaper kits ala cash grab?) first, then changed the blister packs more recently. in 31 waves of ships you can buy the same Enterprise and Klingon ship probably 6 times over, whereas here you can do it a max of three times for the ol' x-wing: Core/regular T65 expansion/Transport epic.

Edit: I'd be up for cardboard only in the event of a 2.0 or something similar, but I like the different color models they usually print for ace packs!

Most Wanted had more cardboard than ships. I don't know whether I want full-cardboard expansions, but having tokens for more ships than are in boxes seems OK. I mean, I figure that's a lot of what would be in a Campaign Box.

That said, I used to play the old FASA Crimson Skies back in college, and that version of the game was cardboard only.
