WOO

That's maybe a good thing.

Means it probably won't suck.

Might also mean it will just be a rehash of RotJ...

wow, that really sucks. force awakens was soooo bad. almost as bad as Phantom Menace. particularly with Rogue One being so incredibly excellent, its really just an embarassment that theyd hire Abrahms again

This part is really bad news:

" Lucasfilm says that Abrams will co-write the film with Chris Terrio, the screenwriter for Argo, Justice League , and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ."

Batman v Superman was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

And he roasted E.T. in Episode VII.

Bring the man back.

ugh, no he doesnt. why do you think the whole original cast had such issues with his take on things? copying a movie nearly scene for scene with everything simply being BIGGER MOAR!!! is not great

Exactly. He's not my top pick but I liked VII a lot and JJ cares more than enough to do well. And now he isn't under contract to produce a soft reboot of the franchise. Although I'm wondering if he and Bad Robot are going to share the same working relationship with Kennedy and Lucasfilm as in VII.

So a new hope was really bad to? Because TFA was just a rehash. And it's what the fan base was shouting for at the time. JJ did alright, all things considered. TFA isn't perfect but none of the Star Wars movies are, even empire. So I think bringing him back now might help episode 9.

Star Wars Episode IX Into Darkness :(

I love The Force Awakens but I don't think this is a good idea

That's kinda my view. When they came out the OT movies were really good and just a spectacle to see.

I recently went back and watched them after seeing Rogue One and...they're actually pretty bad...

Rehashing A New Hope, from what I can see, was just them playing it safe, because God forbid you mess with the holy continuity of the Star Wars universe, lest you invoke the wrath of it's zealous fanbase.

Blame Snyder for BvS. Argo was incredible.

So a flashy, fun ride with little substance and lip service to plot.

JJ Abrams has a pretty good track record of starting interesting and dynamic stories. He is less successful at bringing them to meaningful and satisfying conclusions.

  • Alias (loved this show and watched it spiral down the drain)
  • Lost (hardly watched but the ****-storm around the finale was fun to watch)
  • Fringe (never, ever watched)
  • Nu Trek

I've got no problems with Force Awakens. It was fun and funny and X-wings blew stuff up and it had likable characters doing interesting stuff... Yay. I just hope somebody is holding JJ's hand and helping him tie this all together in some fashion.

Better than Bay Wars. Which is what we could get.

TFA is my favourite Star Wars movie, I'm confident JJ will deliver a great and entertaining final instalment to the Skywalker Saga.

Now this is a problem. Otherwise Kylo and Finn are just going to randomly fight across the universe destroying cities until they discover their mothers share the same name. Rey gets one good scene which leads to a better solo movie. None of it will make sense though.

I agree with pretty much every word.

The only one I'd take issue with is 'final'.

Do you really, really think this is the last one?

Mark Walberg, a struggling junk dealer. Finds out he's a Jedi. And must help other Jedi evade capture from the us military. Which will have him run into a group of sith who are building a dooms day device. And there will be explosions.

Hopefully for awhile. I'd rather like to get allot more spinoff films or have them do series on the old republic. Then revisit the character s in 5-10 years.

or their gonna milk it for all it's worth.space balls : the quest for more money.

I like (not love) JJ Abrams, but for **** sake, no more Beastie Boys references.

I like Ello Asty as a T-70 pilot, but his name makes me cringe every time I think about putting him on the table.
