The death of Rieekan?

By Muelmuel, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Ok, I mean when Rieekan's flagship is KO, and he had earlier applied his ability on another ship, does the effect on that another ship still last?

I.e. yavaris KO but was rieekan'd. Rieekan later gets KO in the same turn, and goes "poof" straightaway. What happens to yavaris right now?

Is it like motti, where the ship exceeding normal hull goes "poof" when he does?

From the FAQ:

"If the ship that General Rieekan is equipped to leaves the play area, a ship or squadronalready affected by this ability remains in the play area until the end of the Status Phase."

The important thing to remember is that triggered events, like Rieekan or fleet command upgrades or the like, work at a specific time and generate an effect with a stipulated end point. Once that effect is triggered, it is effectively independent of the originator and doesn't care if the originator is destroyed, it only cares about its own inherent expiration date. Persistent effects like Motti or Intel don't have a trigger, they continue to generate an effect until they're removed.
