Instigator Title VS sqd in obstructed line of sigt.

By Kiwi Rat, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Played a friendly game yesterday, and my friend said I could not move one of my B-wings that was at distance 1 of his Raider with Instigator title.

The B-wing had an obstacle between it and the Raider, and had clearly obstructed line of sight. But do the B-wing still count as if it is engaged with two sqds?

FYI: It was a very nice and friendly game, with a good pace to it, so I chose not to contest my friends claim, to avoid bogging the game down. ;)

Yes, it still counts as engaged.

Where did you measure LoS to determine if it was obstructed?

Yep. The Card is Clear Cut.

1) Are you within Distance 1? Yes/No

If Yes: Engaged by 2 Squads and thus, can not move.
If No: Not Engaged by 2 Squads and thus, can move, assuming there's nothing else engaging you.

Nothing else matters when you're looking at the movement side.

Shootin's a whole other Collection of Posts in the Rules Forum :D

But in short.

Be happy that they were B-Wings and could fire at it.

I've had it happen to me with Y wings and they not only couldn't move, but they couldn't bloody shoot Instigator because of it.

My Pelta+Adar Talon+All Fighters Follow Me with Keyan + 2x B-wings made short work of that Raider.

Keyan was already in front of the Raider, no obstruction and one of the B-wings was outside distance 1 of the Raider, which already was missing one of its front shields.

After being hammered by the B-wing at distance 1 and the other B-wing going in at "speed 3", Keyan gave the Raider the killer blow, flew away at "speed 3" and was un-activated by Adar, getting ready for the next hapless victim

There are (as far as i remember) only two cards that allows the squadrons to move out of the Instigator. Chiraneau and Tycho. And Chiraneau can be a really funny surprise :D .

I think many ppl read instigator as "squadrons at distance 1 cannot move". Which is wrong, but an easy mistake to make.

Can I be honest?

I think you should.

I've seen what Massed Cloak does when its properly commanded. I think if anyone is going to find the unlock edge and really go to town with it, its you, Mister-All-The-Gozantis-in-Europe. ;)
