Ion cannons vs Spy net token

By mobow213, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

So on a base attack. The 2nd player deployes all fleets, then the 1st player.

Now does the second player deployes the ion cannon tokens, then 1st player uses spy net token, or does it go spy net token then ion cannons token?

What is the exact wording of the timing? ( I don't have a CC rulebook at hand at the moment)

If it is the same, then 1st player does his stuff 1st. Then the 2nd Player does his stuff.

For example, (with fighter ambush) rather than Ion Cannon:

Believe it along the lines of when both fleets have deployed, the 2nd pkayer deployes the ion cannon tokens. And spynet tokens say after fleets have deployed you can use the token to changed ship postion.

Unfortunately, in such an instance, we need the exact wording.

I do believe we had the argument before (although a Search can't find it right now), where we asked the question:

Is "After Both Fleets have Deployed" and "After deployment" are the same timing windows.

If they are , then default to the 1st/2nd precedence we have.

If they are different, then you need to have both fleets deploy, deploy the Ion, and then Spynet....

But until I find my CC book or get exact wording (or the previous thread) , I can't guarantee an exact answer.

I'll just leave this here.

Confirming then:

Spynet: "After both players have deployed their Fleets"

Base Defense: Ion Cannon "After deploying fleets, the second player places 3 objective tokens anywhere in the play area."

(This only applies to the Base Defense mission, as the standard Planetary Ion cannon is after objectives)

They are not the same wording on timing... One has to contend that "After deploying fleets" is shorthand for "After both players have deployed their Fleets" in order for it to have the same explicit timing.

Of course, I personally don't think that's much of a logical leap to make.

But if you're going to head exactly with RAW... Then in the greatest technicality, Both Players deploying their Fleets happens before "after deploying fleets".. As one player deploys, second player deploys, deployment is done, kind of thing . But its hardly 100% set in stone.

if you're going to RAW it up as much as possible: Spynet before Base Defense: Ion Cannon. The Ion Cannon is basically considered as worse as it gets anyway . This doesn't make it worse.

But realise that it is a corellian conflict interaction, and some discussion amongst your group will go a long way... Trying to have a "right" way of doing things to frame an argument around (IE, I am Right, and here's why I'm right) is not the easiest thing to grab that way with this interaction.
