Fleet deployment Tactics
That's cool. Are you using a specific app for this?
Just a few separate drawing apps. Trying to develop it into something more.
Yesterday played a match against a friend, 700 points both sides.
Wanted to match my small based ships and Cr90s against one of his ISDs to keep it occupied. First salvo knocked out my forward shields for the first cr90 and allowed the other 2 (at speed 3) to flank and target the ISDs rear arc. Worked pretty well
on the other side, his Victory II activated his TIE Squadrons and created a sort of shield to harass the Nebulon Refit. I was able to use the Nebulon as a meat shield for the Mc-80 until I could get those side arcs on the ISD.
in the end my deployment seemed to work loosing 2 Cr90s and the Nebulon, to both his ISDs and a couple Squadrons.
Edited by PizzamoviesCool stuff!
Perhaps you should put the silhouettes of the respectives bases for the ships and squads, so as to better simulate the deployment?(and setup area/obstacles/etc.) Or do u have a different idea?
Congrats on winning your battle!
I see potential with this, not only in terms of battle reports but also with crafting strategies.
How are you creating the ship and squadron silhouettes?

I was thinking about this and how to represent the bases. Wondering if it should be a "lighter" color of the ship itself.
Many ideas would be awesome. Gonna add another wave if I can later and asteroids.

Using two separate drawing apps, I insert a 3D rendering of each ship, trace over the top view, scale it and shade it in. Trying to find an application where I can drag and drop the ships in.
Edited by PizzamoviesThis is cool what you're doing, don't want to detract from that. But, are you aware of Vassal? It's an awesome free resource for playing with / testing deployments like you're talking about. And it's already programmed for you, you just have to use a computer.
