You'd need to create a new adaptive ailerons card with a different "XYZ Only" restriction, but I guess that's doable.
It's more a question of what does the ship actually do.
I don't know how heavily armed it's supposed to be (someone with a Galaxy Of Heroes account can probably fill in here) - those look like long-barrelled lasers on the inside of the wings, but it only appears to carry 2.
Making it a cannon-armed large ship - a sort of Imperial IG-88 analogue - might be interesting. Crew slots are always nice, but I'd recommend just one to avoid it being a pure support ship.
Still hoping for the T3c. Krennic throws way better temper tantrums than Kylo, and we got that kid twice!

And don't forget the Rogue Shadow. Make large base cloaking a thing.

for Rebs and Imps!

Oh for the love of god, anything but another shuttle please!!

Yeah! If FFG gets hung-up on shuttles, we'll never get around to the container transports and cargo ferries! >:-(
We need an large Imperial ship with heft, power, and speed...
this sounds like a job for the Blastboat!!!

Actually, the YT-1300 and YT-2400 are already in the game. What do you think a light freighter does??

Oh, I didn't even realize that was an Old Republic ship! I just saw the picture and thought it was an obese TIE Striker.

Republic ≠ Empire.

This games already pulls from almost 40 years of history (Rebels: 5 BBY, Sequels: 34 ABY and counting). Clone Wars extends it by about 15 years (it's 22-19 BBY), which is half the gap between a TIE Fighter and a TIE/fo. Not to mention some of the ships that were around by Rebels/Yavin time had been around since decades (like, the YT-1300 was an old ship by then). Plus, if we talk pilots rather than ships, we're already in that 55-year timeframe, because of Ahsoka, Ventress, Rex, etc.

Appearantly fly circles around starfighters and cause FFG to change MOD.

I understand that the Republic is not the Empire but it would be nice to have a beefy, hard hitting, large base ship that isn't a freighter or called Phantom I and II or has swing wings for the Rebels or the Republic. Besides, it just might have better stats than the X-wing.

Yeah, but that's like someone suggesting a semi-truck or a cargo train and objecting, "But we already have a delivery van!"
I mean like these:

Fair enough. But for Imperials, if you toss "Shuttle" off the list of available flavors for large ships, there is not much left.* The Imperial Navy has starfighters, shuttles, and capital ships.
*Without digging into the EU for something not seen in movies.
Edited by Darth Meanie@BadMotivator, I like it!
I'll also copy here what I put in the Blastboat thread:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/GAT-12_Skipray_Blastboat
The Blastboat fills the role of another Imperial ship that canonically carries a twin laser cannon, a "Twin Senko Systems 5000x2 "Tru-Lok" laser cannon turret", to be precise. Also, if both Imperial and Scum, it could be another non-epic Jabba carrier. (So there's some more justification for the Blastboat, plus it would fit the game developers' needs of being yet another powerful scum ship)
These are my speculations about the noble and oft-misunderstood Blastboat, should it make it to this game:
So, the Wookieepedia page says it had "medium laser cannons." Most ships in X-Wing follow the pattern of "light" = 2 dice, "medium" = 3 dice, and "heavy" = 4 dice, so I'm guessing it would have a three-dice attack. Probably only one agility (it's pretty unmaneuverable in a dogfight, as a lot of the PC-game veterans will recall), so I'm guessing one agility. I like Odanan's shield and hull ideas (see the Blastboat thread) - those seem to fit the Wookieepedia data perfectly. So my idea for a statline is 3-1-5-7, with no primary weapon turret. The ship should also have a torpedo slot, a missile slot, at least one crew slot, and a turret (see below).
Then the variants. These, I think, should be titles, with the exception of GAT-12h. I think the base upgrade bar should have a turret, effectively meaning if you equip a turret, you've made it the GAT-12h (since all of the variants have turrets anyway, it's unnecessarily cumbersome to make this a title. If you want the standard GAT-12g, just don't take the turret).
GAT-12i should read: "title. You must equip a cannon upgrade costing one or fewer squadpoints. You may not equip any missile upgrades." and have a negative cost (-2?)
GAT-12j should read: "title. Your upgrade bar gains the missile icon. Your action bar gains the reload action. Decrease your primary weapon value by one." and cost 0.
GAT-12m would be tricky. Probably something about making maneuvers green.
GAT-12p should read: "title. Your upgrade bar gains the sensor icon. When attacking, you may spend a focus token to gain a target lock on the defender." and cost 2 or 3 squadpoints.
