I know liberty, and home one exist and we have models for both. But with the chimera box, will we see a wingless liberty? Thoughts? Hopes? Will the rebels get tons of variety on the model front and the imps get all the upgrade fun?
How many MC 80 variants?
I personally would really like to see FFG come out with an MC 80A. I imagine it would be between MC 80H and MC 80L for capabilities based on its similar appearance . The MC 75 seems to be quite different. team TOS.
I doubt it as it'll blur the lines between the Home One, Liberty and MC-75.
I am now hoping for an MC80 Flagship Retrofit, which is [slightly] cheaper then the others (to fit more allied ships in the list), with the fleet command upgrade slot. Cheaper as same as command MC80 but 3 squadron, 4 blue/2 red sides, single blue anti-squadron. IAfitting home for Home One title.

The Alliance has so many options for command ships, I think something more portable than a new version of a ship would be best. An MC-80H1 has precedence as a command ship, from Endor. But so does the MC-75 in Rogue One. Maybe an Officer for the Rebels could give their ship the Fleet Command upgrade slot? Requirements: It can't already have the slot, (possibly) a size restriction on the ship since this is mostly for big cruisers, possibly a flagship-only requirement.
The only canon one I'm aware off left is wingless Liberty. I would actually be cool with that being released as a Chimaera type expansion. Have them treat it as two new variants of a Home One style ship. That give us two very similar models for the same class.
Mon cal ships were supposed to vary a lot between the same ships of a single class. So this would perfectly reflect that without trying to shoehorn an entire new class between the 3 existing ones
Edited by Church14Not if the volume reduction compared to the Liberty drops the MC80A to a size medium base.

There is a shot of the wingless Liberty and Home One side by side from RotJ. They look like the same basic size but different engine patterns and blisters.
Ther eis akso also a shot of where the SFX teams take the wingless liberty and add wings

The Reb's do need a new medium ship. They only have one right now, and while it's decent, it isn't great at any one thing in particular.
Two models of that scale is enough I reckon.
There is evidence that the actual Home One is 3km in length. A model at this scale, with corresponding stats & points cost would be cool (assuming the points cap could make it workable).

I don't think they would do that. If they are going in any direction we will probably see a scaled down MC80 and maybe a dreadnaught. Return of the medium ships!

AF1 is what I say
I would love to see the MC80A, MC80B and MC90 added, but i loves me rebels ships
I agree with you Kiwi, we could use a few more mediums. My vote is for the AF 1 and the MC40, maybe even the Liberator-Class.
Don't forget the MC40a!

Ehmm... the MC90 is a dedicated combat version of the Mon Cal cruiser line, that is at least on par with a ISD2, if not, most likely better than a ISD2.
And even though I'm a rebel player at heart, introducing the MC90 before a better Empire ship than the ISD2 has turned up, would perhaps not be such a good idea for the game balance.
I rather want the AF1, MC40, MC80 wingless and MC80B (Mon Remonda), long before the MC90 ever turns up.
Edited by Kiwi RatI think broadly speaking that the game needs other design types rather than more and more mon cal type ships. The AF1 being an obvious choice.
I would also favour some of the EU designs that arrived in the old rebellion game, namely the Liberator class carrier and the Dauntless class.
