So... TIE Punisher, Proton Bombs, Trajectory Simulator...

By FTS Gecko, in X-Wing

I'm guessing someone's already thought of this, but...

Cutlass Squadron Pilot - Trajectory Simulator, Unguided Rockets, Proton Bombs, Extra Munitions, Lightweight Frame x 3
99 points

A potential 3 face up damage through shields coming at you in the initial engagement... well, this could be fun

You'll have to stagger the explosion zones because they know exactly where the bombs will go when they set their dial.

Maybe just 1, with Bomblet, for area control.

The TIE Shuffleboard will be a threatening thing.

Nym says "come to pappa":P

Sabine says "come to mamma":D

Needs more bombs.

Cutless #1: Trajectory Simulator, Extra Munitions, Unguided Rockets, Proton Bombs, Thermal Detonators, Lightweight Frame

Cutless #2: Trajectory Simulator, Extra Munitions, Unguided Rockets, Proton Bombs, Ion Bombs, Lightweight Frame

Cutless #3: Trajectory Simulator, Unguided Rockets, Bomblet Generator, Lightweight Frame

Yeah, rather than flying in formation you're going to want to fly at different angles and distances for coverage, although if you can get some overlaps (especially between obstacles) you're going to be able to control your opponent's movement pretty well.

I'm looking forward to seeing what strategies people can come up with in such a list - knowing how to set up (obstacles and deployment) and where to fly etc.

Yeah, it looks like an engaging mental exercise, even if it turns out to not be good.

What is that ?

shuffleboard is a game where little discs are pushed in a straight line with a stick... TIE shuffleboard was a reference to the proposed Punishers strategy of pushing the proton bombs

Ah, come on, FFG, couldn't that card just say "drop using 5 forward" instead of "launch"? I was looking forward to hear people whining over Deathrain being BS OP.

advanced sensors, my friend. It will.... not work because it's a system slot. tartar sauce!

Experimental interface combo then maybe.

For some reason, this topic is making me think back to my college days playing DDR.

Intel Op Starkiller base pilot could let you coordinate a boost to threaten different directions and range.

To be honest, I think the punisher will love it, but I'm thinking Deathrain.

Deathrain, Trajectory Simulator, Bomblet Generator, Lightweight Frame, maybe unguided rockets if you have the points spare.

It's different to advanced sensors, but it's a lot cheaper and it's also offering significant variation in bomblet placement. Plus it's not using up your action, so it's easier to keep unguided rockets ready for use.

I don't follow- doesn't it explicitly say that you can't launch bombs with the "Action" header?

Well, at least Deathrain is quite flexible with his bomblets either way. Being able to throw bombs around 5 or 1 already covers quite some ground.

Sorry if this is a silly question but has it been confirmed that ships using this new system slot can actually drop bombs from their front guides or are people just assuming that is what FFG mean by "launch"?

Reason I am asking is that I see a lot of people assuming it's front guides but I have a feeling its going to be rear guides and only "Deathrain" and Nym are going to be able to get these across the board like torpedoes.
