Dear FFG, please stop the bombers!

OK, I know this new Bomber was pretty much required with the new film coming out. But really, I am over them, as I feel most are. (I will give you the B/SF-17 looks pretty awesome model wise. It looks like it will be like the A-Wing for me, I was never impressed with it on the screen, but your guy's model made me fall in love with the craft.)

I did not get into X-Wing for bomb laying, I got into it for Dogfighting. While the addition of bombers adds variety, they should be in the background of a fight and not the forefront.

Also, fix the X, E, and B-Wing please.

Yay bombs!

Stopping pwts would be lovely, though. If any one thing doesn't belong in a game about manuevering, it's a ship that can only be dodged by dice

The problem is that the only faction that really should be using bombers, is the one faction without any good bombers. If bombs were an Imperial staple, but not a rebel or scum one we wouldn't be having this issue.

Get rid of turrets that reach out to range 3, infinite bombs, advanced slam, regen, jumpmasters, Alpha strikes, Mindlink, Whatever is making 2 die primaries and generics useless, autothrusters, ships that arc dodge that aren't punished hard enough when you do catch them in arc...

oh, and fix Saboteur, Blaster turret, Ibtisam, Fel's Wrath, Major Rhymer, Winged Gundark, the T-65, the E-wing, the Tie Punisher...

Hey, on film alone, all factions are now pretty on par in bombing. Just because the Empire did it first doesn't mean they're the only ones who can do it.

The issue is that the Imperials are hurt disproportionately by bombs, being that they are the high agility, low health faction. If they were the bombing faction, then not only would they get lower value (because the other factions have much higher health pools), but it would also punish them the most if they were sloppy with their bombs. Instead, the low agility high health factions are the best bombers, and they have no problems eating their own bombs because they do so much more damage to the Imperials that it doesn't even matter. It's game design 101, which clearly FFG fell asleep during.

Yes we would. People wouldn't complain any less about bombs if imperials had good bombers. They just wouldn't complain about the tie bomber being worthless at bombing.

You might want to rethink your squad building with Imp bombers. I've faced some very good builds that were put together with some out of the box thinking.

Also, if bombs were an Imperial staple We'd still be having this conversation with the factions reversed.

Agreed with original post. The bombing mechanics and emphasis has to stop or we start flying casual and skipping your new expansions.

I'm rewarding your listening to us with buying gunboats, and the viper fix box. I am not sure about this bomber because of how it's pushing all the other ships out.

Agreed, What bombs were used twice in the original movies, once trying to get Solo on the asteroid, and on Obi-Wan by Jango and they were dodged for the most part, by an average pilot as Obi-Wan said he was.

Firespray, TIE Bomber, Decimator, TIE Punisher. That's a lot of ships that carry bombs for a faction that sucks at bombing. Other factions didn't even have bombs until wave six! What has happened since wave 7 tho? Imps getting hit hard by nerfs, Imps losing their uniqueness if bombing, arc dodging and overall dominating awesomeness. To Rebel Scum. Even our beloved TIE Fighter, a symbol of our power, was stolen by the traitorous Rebels, and they even added a crew slot can it can bomb too!

We need to take this back. Another TIE title would be nice:

Bombing Configuration (title, 1 pt)

TIE Only, Imperial only

Add one System slot if you don't have one.

Add one bomb slot if you have one or less.

when dropping a bomb you may use bank or turn templates of the same speed as the straight template you would be using.

Oh and almost forgot, Gunboat only too.

And people said we don't need another Imperial Shittle every time I mentioned Krennic's shuttle. Let's just have umpteen bombers instead. Seems like XWM easy mode to me. Why learn to fly? Just litter bombs in the sky.
