Imperials need an Attitude Adjustment

By pickirk01, in X-Wing

"Attitude Adjustment" (or maybe attitude jets)

Modification, 2points? Small ship only (Imperial Only?)

When performing a maneuver, when your maneuver template overlaps an obstacle or bomb token but your ship base does not overlap, you may ignore the effects of overlapping that token.

Helps take some of the sting out of bombs.

... Did you mean "Altitude"?

Although the original title also works for some of the users here...

Much kek

I would add a dice roll. You don't want to make them mini-dashes.

Upon maneuver template overlapping an obstacle or bomb roll a green die. On an evade result ignore the obstacle or bomb token (this does not ignore detonations).

They sure do. No wonder their upcoming greatest pilot is the galaxy's biggest emo.

Two points and a die roll? Do we really need more dice rolls for triggering paid upgrades?

Why would it have to be 2 points? It could be 1 or even 0. Requiring 3 agility. So there you go 3 agility and a die roll to ignore mines and obstacles.

Upgrades with die roll elements tend to be ignored in high level play in favor of known effects. Plus, it only works for the template not the ship base so its only a partial Dash effect. Land on a rock or bomb and you still go boom!

Exactly. If we really think this is too good, I would rather change the price to 3 or 4 than add a roll.

This OP is a masterpiece, I'm sorry more people aren't acknowledging that and that some have flat out had the joke attitude adjustment itself over their heads.

Yeah that is sort of the problem with the meta and it has been an ongoing problem since the days of C-3PO. There are just so many ways to get the results you want without a dice roll. And it doesn't matter how good the odds are a 100% will always beat 99.9%.

But back to the bombs, one of the biggest complaints especially for those fragile 3 hull arc dodgers is that bombs don't allow the defender any dice rolls those arc dodgers often depend on their 3-4 green dice to save them. So giving a single dice roll to save them is better than no dice rolls. Still not as good as 3 dice but better than 0 for sure.

I think something like auto thrusters, but for ships with the barrel roll action, would be neat. However this mod would be a bit more universal. Also it needs to not go on ships that would otherwise take LWF.

Agreed.

Oh, wait, this is a card?

...

Actually, This is a really well thought out card. I like it.

Could also be a unique crew?! Finally we could have Captain Phasma in the game:

Action: All imperial pilots with R3 will be sent to reconditioning.
