I play with 2 other people, one of those guys is a graphic designer so we designed our own custom play area. It measures 36x54 inches with a 6” border to lay out your pilots and upgrades and sheiks tokens. Just thought I’d share.

It’s 4 feet wide and extends over our table by 3 inches on either side. It’s frustrating. Redesigns are coming. My friend gets all the credit for designing it.

Looks like you might be able to salvage the star field, if you cut out the border where you have designate areas for cards and tokens.

Yup, already reprinted the starfield on banner material that seems to work fine. Now working on separate card tables (TV trays) for play areas where card space is limited. Faction specific of course.

I have redoubled my efforts and the new card table (for tight playing environments) has now been completed. Room for 8 ships with varying degrees of upgrade cards, a place for shield tokens, a "storage bin" off to the right for misc other tokens and templates, and those white/clear items above each section are designed to hold damage cards. All in all, I'm quite pleased with it.

Heh. Well the large game mat has since been scrapped in favor of one that just includes the star field on an easily rolled up banner material. And the TV tray/card table folds up for easy storing (for just $19.95!)
