Something with TIE/SF

By Bober00, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi guys,

I played some games with my 3x TIE/IN squad aaaaaand it is not good enough for turrets fighters so I decided to make something different. I'm 100% Imperial so decided to make something with TIE/SF (shields and backshooting miniturret) but I don't know if I'm creating good squads. (I was looking for some squad lists here).

1st option (my fav):

  • Omega Squadron Pilot + Crack Shot

  • Omega Squadron Pilot + Crack Shot

  • Backdraft + Adaptability + System kontroli ognia + Lightweight Frame + Special Ops Training

  • Quickdraw + A Score To Settle + System kontroli ognia + Lightweight Frame + Special Ops Training

2nd option (I never played big ship like Lambda :/ ):

  • Quickdraw+Swarm Tactics+Fire Control System+Pattern Analyzer+Special Ops Training+Lightweight Frame

  • Backdraft+Veteran Instincts+Fire Control System+Pattern Analyzer+Special Ops Training+Lightweight Frame

  • Omicron Group Pilot+Collision Detector+Tractor Beam+Operations Specialist+Engine Upgrade

3 rd option:

  • Quickdraw+A Score To Settle+Fire Control System+Lightweight Frame+Special Ops Training

  • Backdraft+Crack Shot+Primed Thrusters,+Fire Control System+Lightweight Frame+Special Ops Training

  • omega pilot

  • omega pilot

4 th option (saw today on YT):

  • Omega Lider+comm relay+juke+hull upgrade

  • Backdraft + vet instincts+pattern analyzer + fire control system + Lightweight Frame + Special Ops Training

  • Quickdraw + crack shot + pattern analyzer + fire control system + Lightweight Frame + Special Ops Training

5th option (by SOTL, thank you):

  • Quickdraw - A Score To Settle, Fire Control System, Lightweight Frame, Special Ops Training
  • Backdraft - Crack Shot, Primed Thrusters, Fire Control System, Lightweight Frame, Special Ops Training
  • Colonel Vessery - Adaptability, Twin Ion Engine MkII, TIE/x7

What do you think?

My personal favorite that I played a lot is the 4th option, except that Omega Leader doesn't have a Hull Upgrade and I take Expertise on Quickdraw instead of Crackshot. Very fun list to fly.

A friend of mine has some success with Quickdraw/Backdraft/Inquisitor. Inquisitor bring an arc dodger to the list that is also good against turrets, since he can take Autothrusters.

I would take list 4 or list 5 (but in list 5 replace Crackshot with VI on Backdraft)

I personally do like list 1 (4 ships, good damage output) and list 5 (cause Vessery is.. Vessery ;) )

Recently I started to play a variation of list 1 but with bomblet Deathfire instead of 2 Omegas and it is pretty fun to fly with all that repositioning that it can do.

I like a variation of list 4 and it's flown pretty well for me. I'd swap hull upgrade to stealth device on Omega Leader, drop pattern analyzer on Backdraft, swap it out for a Sensor cluster on Quickdraw and Crackshot for Expertise. Makes it a cool 100 points, 2 PS 9's and an 8 and it keeps Quickdraw dodgy enough to get a lot of use out of her pilot ability. I toyed around with A score to settle on her for a long while, but ultimately it made her too much of a target and it was hurting her more than it was helping. If you really like that ept, throwing it on OL and nothing else makes him a decent 21 pt pocket ace in other builds.

My most recent list which I won with last league night is:

  • Backdraft: Wired, FCS, LWF, Special Ops Training, Pattern Analyzer
  • Lieutenant Kestal: Intensity, Ion Cannon Turret, LWF
  • Colonel Vessery: Juke, TIE/x7

A change I was considering is you could swap Juke on Vessery for Adaptability (+1) and to get him at PS 7 to match everyone else and then have 2 points to play with; one potential use could get you Quickdraw + VI instead of Backdraft + Wired if you want to win a PS war, but I love flying Backdraft, others like Quickdraw better.
