Thats awesome! He flew with Chuck Yeager right?

Yes, he was a guest speaker. Talking about his ace days then his test piloting. Very cool life

This is a more direct match. God I want the N-1 in game so bad. Its just......look at it!

The N-1 is an awesome looking ship, but the astromech placement still bothers me. I don't know if it was George or someone else but chopping off artoo's shoulders to not interrupt the smooth lines is not worth it. Just take the Astro out of the ship.

I am relatively certain that he is in there sideways.

@GrimmyV

Agreed. The obvious thing they could have done was just to put him "entirely" inside the ship just behind the cockpit, and not visible.

But its a small issue for me....its still one of the smoothest looking ships in the galaxy.

I’m sure FFG will start reaching into the prequels to keep the ships coming. I’d love to see a Huge Ship Trade Federation station that doesn’t move but can fire and deploy droid ships.

It would be beyond huge, since that ship is around the size of an ISD last I remember, so maybe for Armada but that would just be the ISD in X-wing debate from years ago.

nope, they turned him into a giraffe.

I like what they were going for but they could have been even more derivative, the B-17 is by far one of the coolest planes of all time. Either way im looking forward to it since it looks unique!

Having been inside one of the few remaining working versions of these the interior is just as cool as the outside. The guys who flew and crewed these had serious guts, it was a fortress and could take a beating but it was also a big slow target.

Now if only we could get two rebel ships that use these as direct inspiration! ;)

Do a search for "All American" B-17. It will raise the bar on how much damage these birds could take.

Dang! Her crew must've been glad to make it home. I remember seeing an episode of Dogfights where a B-17 lost her rudder and elevators to a German Kamikaze plane, and made it home. The old birds could really take a lickin'!

*Struggles to hold down vomit*

How dare you compare that ******* naboo garbage to the P-51D Mustang.

To me its the Space Lobster. From a top down view that's what it looks like.

@HolySorcerer

Hey man....thats a bit harsh....the P-51 is probably the coolest looking plane of all time. I like the N-1 because its profile is similar, thats about it. Why cant we like it and the N-1 for using some of its lines?

Oh right....my bad.....Star Wars fans are all obligated to have blind hatred for anything in the Phantom Menace. Carry On.

The worst part of being a Star Wars fan is having to put up with other Star Wars fans endlessly ******* about the prequels. They were bad movies. Get over it

I do love the ships from the prequels, but it's hard to get over PTSD that harsh.

by the way, the year Ep. 9 comes out it will be the 20th anniversary of TPM. Ouch.

Yes, they were terrible movies. In fact, they didn't have even one redeeming feature. So why do you want one of the terrible ships from those terrible movies?

Yes, I'm a grumpy old man. Get off my lawn, and take your terrible cgi ships and characters with you!

The Phantom Menace was a bad movie, yes, but it did have redeeming qualities, 1(awesome lightsaber dual, 2(the starfighters. and if you cannot see it, than you are as blind as a bat.

The lightsaber dual was just a boring dance routine, they didn't even swing the ******* saber at each other half the time. The fighters were bad too, it was just overly shiny poorly done cgi, which doesn't fit with the Star Wars aesthetic at all. Sorry, but there was nothing redeeming at all about any of the prequels. If I had been Disney, I would have declared all of them non-canon and hired someone to write them from scratch.

Anyone else think JJ Abrams put emo overly nostalgic Kylo Ren in TFA so Star Wars fans would have to deal with watching themselves on screen?

so, you don't think a different planet would have ships that look different? take a look at a samurai's armor, then look at a european knight's armor then see if you can honestly tell me that they have the same aesthetic.

yes, the CGI was bad, but that has nothing to do with the design aesthetic, and it's "star warsiness".

Guys. Could y'all just agree to disagree, 'cause the argument'll never end once y'all start it.

Personally, I like the ships, but that's me. And just because someone doesn't like 'em it doesn't make them blind, or stupid or anything. Same goes for liking them. It's just a taste thing guys! I grew up when the prequels came out, and they introduced me to Star Wars. So they ain't all bad to me. (I also love the Aklay.)

Also, I'm with GLEXOR. The N-1 is a royal escort fighter, and there's a whole galaxy out there. Everyone won't have the same authentic. The N-1 is supposed to be a bit flashy and clean. Look at the Blue Angles or Thunderbirds as a example.

The naboo ships were shiny and clean looking because 1990's cgi couldn't do textures very well, so if they made everything perfectly smooth and shiny their computers could render it easily. Star wars is full of stupid looking ships and dumb designs, but none of them are perfectly smooth and shiny, because they were designed to fit into the look and feel of the universe, not the cgi budget.

Look man, it's pretty clear that you're not going to convince me that the prequels have anything worth keeping, so we'll have to agree to disagree. Not only would I object to the naboo starfighter, but I'd probably just be done with xwing if they went into the prequel nonsense. The game is already an imbalanced mess, why stick around for an imbalanced mess with ships I hate?

i shall cease arguing.

I hate the under scaled size of that bomber more than anything. don't care for even more bombs in the game right now much either. I hope an FAQ will affect bomb domination somehow before these drop.

What if I told you that it's not undersized...?

I'd like to caution FFG of the "Darth Mail" rule. Prior to TPM being released, Maul's face was everywhere. Every manufacturer couldn't put the "new Vader" on enough stuff. What happened when the movie came out? Dude gets cut in half! All kids immediately don't want Maul anymore. (Until Clone Wars season 4 I think). You can even insert the TIE Stiker here. What we see in the movie is not what is on the table.

Sooo.... this B-17 may only be in the movie for a few seconds, or like Inn Rogue One, may not even make the movie!!!

All that being said, it is smaller than it should be.
