I love the design, and the concept, but there's one thing I don't like about the Resistance Bomber. It has one of the least imaginative names of any ship in Star Wars. It's literally named after the WWII B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber! This can't be a coincidence! So, from now on, I'll call these towers Flying Fortresses. All because of there namesake.

I think i am just going to call them towers... thanks for the idea!

my only issues are its a 3 crew ship without a crew slot, and its 50% of the size its supposed to be. they really screwed up the scale, maybe 1/450 scale? way, way off

those crew are busy flying, gunning, and bombing. there's no room for Sabine to run around slapping thermal detonators onto all the bombs!

If the Last Jedi brings us the B/SF-17, will the last movie bring us the B/SF-24 and/or 29?

Not really, on both. What if these crew are all required to fly the ship? There's simply not this linear relation between the amount of people in the ship in the lore and crew slots in the game, no matter how often it gets repeated.

And the scale is slightly off, but not by 50%.

You can see that the X-Wing is roughly the size of the "keel", and it's not very far off for the models. It is roughly off by 10-15%, which amounts to almost 1cm of the model. That's noticeable but also reasonable.

I love the ww2 feel. My only problem is I want them now!

Having been inside one of the few remaining working versions of these the interior is just as cool as the outside. The guys who flew and crewed these had serious guts, it was a fortress and could take a beating but it was also a big slow target.

Now if only we could get two rebel ships that use these as direct inspiration!

I'm with the exploding bird on this one ... cool inspiration.

How to make a new Star Wars ship 101:

1. Take a real-world bomber.

2. Fold the wings down.

3. Congratulations, you have a Star Wars bomber.
4. Go home early.

Do a search for "All American" B-17. It will raise the bar on how much damage these birds could take.

I’m sure FFG will start reaching into the prequels to keep the ships coming. I’d love to see a Huge Ship Trade Federation station that doesn’t move but can fire and deploy droid ships.

I love the P-38. Wonky as the Twintail X-wing is, it would be a cool looking ship for the game.

Nothing beats the Arc-170/P-61 resemblance.

Actually, since it's been theorized that the title for the thing seems to emphasize formation defense, this is spot-on for this thing!

Sure, it's a bit goofy, but honestly- more please, FFG! Emulate WWII as hard as you can!

I'm all about scale and if this ship doesn't make the scale it needs to be then, it may very well be the death of this game for me.
