Kylo Ren & Bomblets

By Boom Owl, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Do crits rolled using attack dice from bomblets count as attacks that can resolve the ISTDS condition.

Im 99% sure they dont but still curious. Basically does a succesful Bomblet count as an attack or is it considered the same as crits rolled from rocks?

An attack is when you fire a weapon at the enemy and they roll green dice (unless they have AGI 0 of coursr) to defend against it and failed to block the damage. Damage from any other source is not an attack. Strictly speaking by the rules of X-Wing bombs are not weapons, they are merely upgrades.

A good way to keep this straight is to just look at it this way: Did you go through the process outlined in the timing chart for performing in attack? If yes then yes that is an attack anything that procs from something that requires an attack can be triggered. If you did anything else, like say for instance the process involved in resolving a bomb, then that is not an attack and you cannot trigger abilities that require an attack.

For reference see stealth device FAQ. The rules for what does and does not destroy a stealth device would basically be the same.

@sharrrp

thanks!

Came to the same conclusion and assumed that was the case but the fact that you roll "attack" dice had me confused.
