This will be a Squadron I'm going to try once I get my Rebel Aces, and I want to Know what more experienced players think.

Blue Squadron Pilot

Blue Squadron Pilot

Prototype Pilot x3 w/Chardan Refit

This comes to 89 points, so I plan to give the Bs some upgrades, I just haven't decided which ones yet.

Interesting idea with a different kind of Swarm going on. Not sure on best upgrades as not a rebel player.

I would add an ion cannon and a fire control system to each B-wing.

Sounds like a good idea!!

So, I take it this is for non-competitive because unfortunately the B-Wing still needs a fix title or something to make it worth the price of admission. And with 3 A's the Prototypes are kinda only good as blockers so you would only need one.

Alas, with the ships you're trying to fly, this is what I'd do with them. The B's definitely want FCS to get action economy. They are going to be the work horses of the swarm. Use 2 A's to set up a block and the 3rd with Proton Rockets behind them in like a V formation to spank a tokenless something for one shot. After that, just split up formation and block them to **** from K-turning or getting good shots and try to focus fire when you can on tokenless ships.

You are correct, this list is for casual play. I like the list you put together too.

I think your weak offense will be a problem. Only two 3 dice attacks. Your opponent will surely go for the B-wings first. So I would remove an A-wing and add another 3 dice ship mabey Jess Pava which is great in a swarm or Biggs to protect the B-wings.

Jess Pava, R2 Astromech, Integrated OR Biggs, R4-D6, Integrated (26)

That is something I am considering. I think I will add an X wing.

If you do go Ion Cannon/FCS, don't forget one of the B's can take B-Wing/E2 and "Chopper" for the last point! Also (since it hasn't been listed yet), if the B's systems aren't otherwise occupied, don't leave your Collision Detectors at home.

Good idea!

As a B-Wing veteran, I've always preferred Adv Sens to FCS. Adv Sens gives you so much more flexibility--a barrel roll before a K-turn or a 1-hard turn can give you a big edge over your opponent. If you're not stressed, Adv Sens also gives you the ability to take your Focus/TL before you bump into an opponent. When you fly at a low Pilot Skill, knowing when and how to bump opponent ships (and rob them of their actions and their ability to focus-fire down your ships) is clutch. If you can keep your actions while action-blocking them, you control the pace of the game.

I've also enjoyed experimenting with B/E2, and I think you can do a lot with it. To make Adv Sens even more worth it, an Intelligence Agent is cheap and helps you to plan whether to take your pre-maneuver barrel roll. While C-3P0 is often a crowd favorite, I've found it a bit too expensive at 3 points to justify only 1 evade per round. I love Hera Syndulla, though, to add a level of unpredictability to your maneuvers (Hera as a crew on either Ibtisam or Keyan Farlander is one of my favorite combinations, with either Stay on Target or Wired as your EPT). Kanan is always fun too, if you can afford the three points. I've run Nien Numb as a crewman once too (it helps if you are running with A-Wings so that your B-Wing doesn't lag behind the alpha strike)... but all in all, Hera or Chopper or Intelligence Agents are probably better 1 point options than Nien Numb.

If you do opt for FCS instead of Adv Sensors, I've always theorized that Han would make a good crewman to have (especially if you don't expect to be getting many actions), but I've never tested this theory because I usually run Adv Sens.

Since you have 89 points, you can spend 10 points to do some crazy combination and have a point left over for initiative:

Maneuvering: 2 Adv. Sensors; 2 B-Wing E/2; + Hera & Intelligence Agent
Anti-stress: 2 Adv. Sensors; 1 B-Wing E/2; + Kanan J

But if you can find the points, try running Ibtisam or Keyan Farlander with B/E2, Hera Syndulla, and Stay on Target or Wired (Wired + Ibtisam give you good odds (something like 70%) for getting a single Evade result every defense). It's really a lot of fun, though it is a bunch of points.
