Looking at the pictures of the silencer in the box and the u-wing in the box both seem to be about the same size, the silencer might be a tad longer due to the wings.

Silencer looks bigger and cooler than the aggressor.

I don't see the problem. Clearly the difference of plastic between small and large base is not the price-difference, and I hope nobody disagrees here...?

So if the difference is the amount of cards or the model itself, and maybe something else we don't see directly yet, then $30 are fine. It's exactly like the IG-2000 or the U-Wing where nobody complained.

I honestly have no problem with the silencer. I mean yeah it seems to be a small base ship but it comes with 12 upgrade cards, plus a condition card. And some of those cards are doubles which before this pack were only in one source, AT in starviper and Primed Thruster in HotR. And doubles of two new tech upgrades where one seems to be small base only with attacking in mind and another that seems to be a focus version of comm relay. So yeah it's a small base but it comes with some good stuff and the model seems to be pretty big.

TBH the Bomber seems kind of lackluster in comparison but with the extra upgrade l, bomb tokens, large base, it kind of makes up for it I guess. And looking back the Decimator, YV-666, Lancer, and Upsilon were large base ships that each costed $40 just like the Bomber. The first two had 13 cards just like this does, the Lancet had 12, and the Upsilon had 15. And this thing has the same HP total as the Upsilon and YV but still more than the Lancer.

The one thing I wish was that the Bomber switched out one copy of its launcher upgrade for say Pattern Analyzer.

Maybe, just maybe, since it is a new movie tie in, they did a really good job on the paint so they are charging more? It doesn't look to be any bigger than the tie punisher though.

I think the price is fair, more than fair in my mind. I'll be buying multiples of both and am excited, but hey, free world, FFG won't be kidnapping you and forcing you to buy them.

Obviously they're charging more because in Wave XIII they're going to hide golden tickets inside five lucky miniatures, with the winners getting to tour the manufacturing facilities and possibly even take over FFG!

30$...yeah I'm not buying Tie Silencer. Considering I barely ever play X-wing and our Lord and Savior Gunboat coming to us I cannot justify such expense.

Not just Australia. I'm looking at €20 for a small base ship here in Ireland. When I saw the wave announcement, my initial reactions were - in order - "Hey, that Silencer looks like it might be fun as a pair" and "Oh bloody great. More bombs.". My reaction after I saw the prices was "Well, looks like that's another wave I won't be buying".
When I started playing, a small base ship was €12 (ah, nostalgia...). At €20, for something I may not get to use much because of meta considerations or because a ship may not actually be that viable initially (I'm looking at you TIE/sf) - or at all (and now I'm looking at you TIE Punisher...) - €20 is tough to justify. It's **** near impossible to justify multiples of one for cards, or a specific list idea. It's outright laughable when it hits $30, because with taxes and such, that's going to be €35 here, give or take a few quid. That's literally in the ballpark of what I paid for an Imperial Star Destroyer in Armada, and that's a considerably larger item, with a lot more in content and packaging.

The only way I'd be on board with it being $30 is if, as some have said, it comes with some extra things in the box. Specifically, a whole extra **** ship. If I want to dump money on something that really doesn't seem worth it, I'll find an Early Access game on Steam and add it to my collection of regrets.

If this was really the case, then why isn't the gunboat priced higher? It's certainly got a bigger following........ Looks like the model is one of those "needs a medium base but we aren't going to do it" things so it got a small base slotted into a u wing/ig box at that pricepoint.

You aren't forced to buy them.

For what it's worth, Runewars expansion packs were listed as $30 when they were first announced, but a few days later, and after lots of complaints and doubts being expressed on the forums, the price was reduced to $25. So if you don't like it, keep complaining and it might change.

As for me, I think the price is reasonable for what you get in this box. I'm so excited for multiples of these cards I would never have acquired otherwise: more Autothrusters and more Primed Thrusters - all the thrusters! And Sensor Jammer, too! This is fantastic!

All this fuss for 10 bucks more.

I was actually more excited about the TIE Advanced fix and new pilots.

I'm thinking their pricing has a lot to do with retail space. The smaller the box the cheaper, the larger the box the more expensive it will be because it is taking up more shelf space at a store. So they are pricing it with the retailers in mind.

Not to mention shipping space. You can't fit as many large boxes in a shipping container as you can small packs. And considering how long these things remain on board the ships...

Also, if it is a box that means there will be a booklet with missions in it. And missions are fun and added value, in my eyes at least.
