This game seems to be under costed when compared to other minis, and (retail) prices really have not changed in years. Further, there is alot more in these boxes than other recent releases.

Get over it.

Here is a single unpainted GW Model which costs more then I spend on X-wing in one year......

Here is a second that cost more then I spent on x-wing in 3 years.

Yeah, and it's one of the main reasons I play it. And I want it to stay that way.

$30 for a single small fighter mini is 40k prices. No thank you.

The shadowcaster is actually overpriced as well. They charge literally the same for the shadowcaster as they do for a T-70 and the new falcon in the heroes of the resistance pack.

Peterson is on record for saying that the Falcon has one of the thinnest margins of the line. I think only starters come close. The only reason they do that is because it is the freakin Falcon. It is the best selling model of the line. If you compare the Falcon to any of the other $30 ships, I think it is obvious that is should've been a $40 ship. Except it is the Falcon, so they were able to get away with the thin margin. And honestly, I think it is a good loss leader for them. The Falcon model, for being so good, is the perfect enticement to bring people into the game. (please hold all PWT rants)

It's almost as if economics and pricing is far more complex than we generally think.

I think that the Silencer fits into more of the large base category than the small, but maybe they put in on the small base because they didn't want a large base ship with both boost and barrel roll (along with an elite slot for push the limit for real movement options) on it's action bar on a large base.

I don't think it is that complex. You just have to look at it from FFG's side, rather than your own. Am I happy about spending $90 for my 3 Silencers, no. But FFG is my drug dealer of choice. And it is still a **** of a lot better than the random model.

Personally, I'm surprised that the Wave 1 ships still go for the same price 5 years later.

At $30 and $40, I'll start thinking harder about how many multiples, but I am still well below what I used to spend on CCGs in the '90s.

hey i got one of those!

it has so much dust on it right now since the ta'unar blows goats atm...

on topic: i imagine the 30USD small ship is a typo. Small ships are 15-20USD typically, why it would be 30 when the Scurrg wasnt is weird.
Bomber has a gakton of cards, i think they expected people to only buy one since its such an odd ship so they gave it a few extra cards (hence, 3 freakin trajectory sims) and hyked the price to 40.

I'll have to see it on the shelf to decide. it sounds over priced to me but if the model is good sized and awesome, I may feel it's worth it. But it seriously looks about the size of a tie punisher.

I think there is a good chance the bomber is bigger than it shows in the image, which would explain the price.

The silencer has enough upgrades in the pack and seems sized to be equatable for the value.

I think it's kind of funny actually. If the Silencer had been a large base, meaning literally all you would have more of is plastic base and cardboard, everyone would say "oh ok that makes sense."

if the silencer was a large base we'd have the uwing all over again of people screaming WHY IS THAT A LARGE BASE!? until the ship dies off completely and is forgotten.

Yep. But they wouldn't argue with it being $30 because the square stand it sits on is bigger!

It has the same box as other $30 products. I really don't see how it can be. They clearly couldn't fit this ship into a clam shell.

Who knew that we had so many experts in product costing, international manufacturing and global product distribution amongst us!

personally i find the pricing okay before you factor in power creep, but paying 100 bucks for a squad that wont compete in 2 years is bogus. interceptors, ties, Xs, Ys, Bs, As, Tie bombers, U-wings, etc... all are way underpowered by todays norms. maybe 10 bucks from the silencer can go towards paying someone to balance the game

I don't plan to buy either. I don't really care for most of the sequel ship designs (that bomber is ugly as sin). I kind of like the Silencer but I have this thing where I can't mix ships from different eras so it's a no-go for this casual player. Saves me a pile of cash for this round, I guess. They can violate my wallet at will for a Rogue One pack or campaign box, however.

Actually they had a 10% increase last year already, cut severely discount fors online retailers last year as well (iirc about 30%) and the MSRP of new releases seems to be significant higher as well, considering this two new releases.

I would love to see the finicial report 3 months after this drops just to know how much a price increase affected sales. I know they will never devulge that data but it would be fascinating.

That said the higher price won't stop me from buying them, I collect, but it has definately affected how many I will buy.

Not that I want to rain into your parade, but those GW models have more fine details than a whole year of X-Wing releases together as well :D
It not like X-Wing models are high quality models. They are cheap (in price and quality) models, pre-painted for my convenience and with huge fabrication tolerances which leads to broken pegs or sockets right after the first use on regular base.
The were still a very good value proposition, because the price was very agreeable as well.

Besides the implication of higher prices are that FFG is down with growing the game and the game gets into the second phase of its life-time, milking it for what all its growth was worth. That has implications for the quality of the gameplay and expected further power creep as well. So I rather hope that FFG keeps growing the game for a few more years. :)

Well, I have no idea if this is a necessary price point or not, but it has taken much of the wind out of the sails of this player's anticipation. I'll have to think about this.

Same here. Most new ships they announce get me excited to go out and buy them, and several times that excitement has waned and by the time the ship is released I don't particularly care one way or the other anymore (U-Wing, Upsilon, IG-2000, K-Wing, ShadowCaster- all of these are ships I wouldn't mind having but haven't bothered to get yet).

But for these ships... it's only been half a day and already I've lost interest in them, mainly due to the pricing. :\

Tie Silencer is the same price as IG-2000 expac. I never understood why that was a large base ship. The silencer looks bigger than IG-2000, but gets the maneuverability of a small base. I am missing where the issue is.

I plan to only buy one anyway. This is a repeat of wave 5 with two ships. That was the cheapest expansion for me. I only bought 1 of each, and will probably do the same for wave 13.

If it is that big, I won't mind, then. I mean, it might still affect my purchasing decision, but I wouldn't be upset, because it's not FFG's fault if the ship is that large.
