Painting Guides

By manoftomorrow010, in Star Wars: Legion

Hey everyone, while the game is still far from release, I found these painting guides on YouTube. The link is Luke, but it looks like the channel has guides for other figures as well. As a minis game noob, I'll be bookmarking these for when it releases.

His guides aren't bad, but the biggest advice I can give is:

Pace yourself and accept that guys like that are experts, and you are not. Find out how good you are and how much time you can invest, and don't get discouraged by the gorgeous dioramas the FFG marketing team will post photos of. Do your best, and get those guys on the table.

Also...Simple Green can strip most paint off most minis without damaging the plastic or metal they are made of. So nothing wrong with painting it up to the best of your ability now, accepting that they aren't perfect, enjoy playing the game, and then in 6 months when you refine your skills, sending the platoon into a tub of Simple Green and doing a repaint.

...or you could keep the paint job as a measure of your progress.

agree on keeping the paint job its fun to sometimes pop open an older box and see how much you progressed in the years.

as for painting guides there are some good ones on youtube sorastro for one is very well done though i didnt really like painting white the wy he does on his storm troopers. but thats my own personal preference. other guides that will give you good explaination on painting certain colours or techniques are dr. fausts painting clinic/ privateer press prime.
